Author's note
This is my first time writing fanfic EVER...yeah
It was a dark night, Eponine walked the cold streets of Paris. She didn't want to go back to her home (not that it really was one) in fear that her dad would hurt her and for once in her life she was glad that Alzema, Gavroche, Jacques, Laurence, Peter, Monique, Lauren, and Lilly were with Muchettia. Things had been getting rough at there house with their fathers gang and their upcoming robbery. She normally waited till early in the morning till her parents were way too drunk to care how late she came home or to notice. But this night was different. All she wanted to do was go and hide from the world and love and if she could she would run away but she knew that wasn't an option because of her siblings and if she could she would take then in a heartbeat but she couldn't afford her own place let alone take care of her siblings. She was use to taking care of them for as long as she could remember due to the fact that her parents were drunkards. While walking she was in a train of thoughts and wasn't looking where she was going when she bumped into someone and fell. When she looked up she noticed a man wearing a red jacket.
"Sorry." she said as he helped her up
"Eponine?"
Enjorlas was walking home from the library late at night or early in the morning he didn't really know. He spent his time at school, at meetings, and at the library for a few hours of so he didn't really know. To him if felt like 30 minutes but he knew it was longer. He was walking when someone bumped into him and fell backwards. Someone with long long brown hair and brown eyes. She got up quickly and started to apologize when he noticed who it was.
"Eponine?" He asked
She looked up at him in surprised
"Enjolras?" She asked
He was surprised to see her outside of school let alone bump into her
"What are you doing outside at this time?" He asked wondering why she was out so late.
"I...I was-" oh crap she had to think fast "I was out for a walk, couldn't sleep" she said trying to sound convincing
Enjolras could tell that something was off. He looked at his phone which read 1:43 AM, as soon as he saw this he knew something was definitely wrong but decided not to say anything.
"Sooooo," he said trying to relieve the sorta awkward air.
"Sooooo," she said back mockingly. He chuckled at her antics.
"Where are you headed?" He asked trying to get her to say why she was out so late.
"Um..I don't really know." she said with a nervous/embarrassed laugh
"Do you want me to walk with you?"
Eponine was surprised for a second why would he want to walk with me? She thought about it for a second but then shook the thought away.
"No but thanks anyway."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," she said with a little bit of annoyed tone
"Ok, just wondering," he said as he held up his hands in defense
"I'm not gonna hurt you silly," she said back as a small smile appeared on her face
"Well…" He said to get her to smile again, which she did while smacking his arm
"Ow," he said sounding hurt, even though he wasn't
"Oh come on Enjy I didn't hit you that hard," she said defensively
"Uh-huh," he said as childish as he could just to make her smile
"Oh man up," she said while smiling the whole time.
Man I love it when she smiles. Wait what am I thinking? She only has feeling for Marius.
He quickly shook the thought from his head.
"Ok well be safe, are you sure you don't want me to walk with you?" He asked for the final time
"I will and yes." She said with a tad bit of an annoyed tone mixed in with a thank you tone
"Ok, well bye." He said as he started to head home
"Bye." She yelled back
About after 30 seconds after walking away he turned around and saw he still standing in the same spot before she ran off into the darkness.
