A/N: Really weird. So you don't have to worry about informing me about how weird it is. I already know. I'd still love to hear anything you have to say. Really short. A one-shot. Still love reviews!

Or Maybe ...

He twirls her hair in his fingers. She loves it when he does that. Sometimes he will do it when he's trying to write a song on the beach while she's reading, or when she's just waking up in the morning and he's already awake.

Today he does it rather absent-mindedly, holding her head in his lap while he twirls her soft blonde hair.

"Claire?"

"Yeah?"

"Why hasn't anybody come yet? A plane? A ship? Anything?"

She thinks for a moment and then replies "Maybe we're in a time-warp, Charlie! Or maybe.. Maybe we've entered this overlap of dimensions where only we exist because in our world and in the other, we are just ocean..." She mumbles, slightly sleepily.

Charlie smiles and she giggles.

"Kate's not going to want to watch the baby forever, Claire."

"I know. I just need a break." She sighed.

"No wonder. He's a handful. You've got an hour yet, love." Charlie soothes. She murmurs and pulls him down to lay on the sand with her.

"Or maybe..."

"Claire!" Charlie laughs.

"No really... Maybe we've crossed into an alternate reality where, in this reality, we never went missing! So no one's looking for us at all."

"My thoughts exactly..." Charlie said sarcastically, still smiling over at her. He reached out a little and continued twirling her hair.

"Or maybe.." Her eyes darkened. "We're dead."

"What?" Charlie sat up. "Claire..." He laughed nervously. "Do dead people have babies, and lay on the beach laughing with eachother?"

"I don't know, Charlie, do they? Everyone will tell you, it was one hell of a plane crash." She asked, her tone eerily serious.

"Claire... We aren't dead." Charlie said

A cloud blocked out the sun and a shadow crept over the beach, dropping the temperature a few degrees. Charlie shivered. Claire's comment had stuck in his head and given him chills.

Claire looked at him meaningfully and then glanced up at the sky.

"We're not dead." Charlie confirmed.

"Alright, Charlie." Claire said , and she grabbed his hand and held it.
