Looking back at it now, it feels like yesterday.
Max wrote down fervently into a small notebook.
It's taken time to recover, but I still look back constantly, how that awful storm destroyed Arcadia..
Max paused, tapping her pen against the desk she resided at.
"Maax~" A familiar voice cooed, as two pairs of arms wrapped around her.
Max smiled and placed a hand on each pair. "I didn't hear you two come in," Max turned around in her chair to face the two. "How was the park my little doe?" Max lifted the small child and held her tight.
"It was so fun Mama! I was a squirrel! Oh and I went down the big slide!"
"The big slide?!" Max responded sounding excited "My little doe is growing into a big doe now is she? Didn't I tell you to stop growing so fast?" Max chortled.
"But Mama I can't help it! I just grow so much!"
Max placed the child on the floor.
"Oh alright, you get a free pass... This time." Max grinned and walked over towards Chloe, pulling her into a warm embrace. "And how is my buck doing?"
Chloe groaned with a light chuckle, ruffling Max's hair. "You really love your deer huh?"
"I've always loved deer, you know that, but it just feels more special with you and little Joyce, you're my family and you mean more than everything to me, my number one priority."
A small smile crept across Chloe's face and she kissed Max's forehead. "I love you so much." Chloe cooed.
Hearing those words made Max's heart flutter, they'd been together since the storm happened nearly 10 years ago, and Chloe still had a way of pushing out all the doubt that embodied her.
Max buried her nose into her lover's shoulder and muttered "I really love you too."
A small tug interrupted the two, "Mama, mommy, can you play dolls with me?"
"Of course sweetie, go ahead back to your room, we'll be right in. Max uttered sweetly.
The little girl's face lit up and she scampered to her bedroom.
"She's so beautiful, so lovely Chloe.."
"She get's it from you, you know that right?" Chloe smiled rubbing the smaller girl's back.
Max blushed a deep red, and buried her face in Chloe's shoulder once again. "You're lying."
"Out of all the things I could lie about, why would I lie about that?"
Remaining still for a moment, caressed by Chloe's loving arms, she finally said, "She gets so much from both of us, she's our precious little doe and I couldn't be happier about that.." .. "I wouldn't be happy without you."
Chloe stared at Max and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You're getting hella mushy, and we should go play dolls with our daughter before she gets impatient."
Max smiled interlacing their fingers. "Yes, lets go play dolls with our daughter."
Aaah! I hope this is okay! It's been a while since I've written so I'm a bit rusty. But a huge thank you to javegar453 on tumblr who made the suggestion of; "takes place 10 or 15 years after the ending, if you choose to sacrifice the town, Max and Chloe are happily married and have a 5-year-old daughter named Joyce, after Chloe's mom."
Seriously, thank you so much, and thanks to everyone who reads and enjoys my work, it honestly means the world to me and helps me so much 3
