Draco Malfoy set off from his Potions class, grinning and laughing, because Potter had detention. He stopped grinning and laughing though, when he realized he had left his Charms books in the library, and Charms was his next class.

He set off down the halls and soon afterward stepped on to the staircase that would take him to the library. Or it would have, if the stairs hadn't suddenly moved at that moment. He didn't notice though, as he was preoccupied with the fact that Charms started in five minutes.

He set off down the hall, running like mad.

Left. Right. Left. Left. He took the turns usually needed to get to the library. But when he reached the spot where he thought the library should have been...

The staircase must've shifted. Now I'm going to be late for Charms. Father won't be happy when he hears this.

Who are you?

He turned around and before him was a ghost with a sword through his chest.

I said Who are you?'

Draco Malfoy, Seventh year Slytherin, and you'll leave me alone if you know what's good for you.

I can't.

Why not?

Because I must warn you.

Of what?

You must listen. A long time ago I met three witches who warned how and when I would die, and I did not listen, thinking them to be fools. I was then heir to the throne of Scotland, but not king, and I endeavored to become more. I wanted to become king then and there. So, my lady suggested that I kill the king and blame some servants. I did so. I became king. I killed my best friend to make sure my rule would not be challenged, for it was said that his children would be kings one day. I killed off all who threatened me. Then, one day all went wrong.

What happened?

My lady killed herself, feeling guilt. I saw the prophecies told to me by the witches, and that day I died at the hands of a man called Macduff and a man called Malcolm became king. Later, while as a ghost, I pondered why I had fallen, and I found the answer. Ambition. I had been too ambitious, trying to become king and killing off all my enemies. You to, are too ambitious. You endeavor to rise above all others. But that is impossible. And you to, have been steered into being too ambitious by others. With I, it was my lady, with you it is your father. Be warned, lest that ambition and the pride that usually comes with it, makes you fall. Warn your house as well. The Slytherins have long been too ambitious, and this ambitiousness has caused evil to rise from them. Young Malfoy, you must not be too ambitious. You must honor all, even those you hate, and in time you may not hate them. You may even see them as friends.

Why are you warning me?

Another prophesy the witches detailed to me was that I would warn the pale one of bad faith in the house of the snake of ambition'

Why should I listen to you?

Because the same fate I had may befall you. Good-bye, young Malfoy.

Wait, who are you?

I am called Macbeth.

With that he floated off.

Draco sat there for a long time. He pondered over the ghost's warning.

Why should I listen?

Because he is correct. Your father always pushed you to be like him, and you always place yourself above others. And if you don't heed his warning, you shall fall.

At that moment the bell rang, signaling the ended of class.

He had missed Charms.

But he did not care. Draco headed down the staircase to the Great Hall. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger were just about to enter the Hall.

Better start respecting people now.

Hello. Lovely day, isn't it?
