Childhood memories

Hey guys, felt like making a new story. It's my first oneshot so be warned.

It was a hot summers say, children were outside playing, parents watching them chatting and laughing. It was a peaceful day in Nibleheim, not one monster seen for weeks. I looked out my window and saw that my friends were outside waving for me to come out. I waved back and ran to my mirror, double checking that I looked alright before I went out.

"Tifa!" I turned to see my mother walk in. "I have a present for you." She held out her hands, there was a small blue box with a red ribbon on the top. She place it in my hands and I shook it next to my ear. "Go on, open it." She said with a smile.

I opened it and to my surprise, two silver teardrop earrings were inside. I looked up at my mother with joy and hugged her. "Thank you."

"Well, today you get to take out your studs; I thought you might like them. I used to wear them when I was little, go on, and try them on." I nodded and ran to the mirror. I took the studs out carefully and placed them in the jewellery box. I took the backs off the teardrop earrings and put them on. "They look wonderful." My mother patted my shoulder and walked out. I stood at the mirror looking and the wonderful present she gave me. When I moved just a little bit, I could feel them dangle.

"Oh, my friends." I ran downstairs out the door and met up with them.

"Took your time," one of them said.

"Sorry, my mother just gave me these earrings," I showed them and they praised me on how good they looked on me.

"So, you wanna play tag?" All three of them looked at me curiously, it was like I had to be asked everything that we did because I was the only girl.

I nodded, "only if I'm not it first." I teased before running to hide.

"HEY!" They all shouted running after me.

We played and we played, my life seemed perfect, except for the monsters but we had some SOLDIER living in the mansion cleaning up so we all knew that we were safe.

I managed to get away from them but just to be sure I looked over my shoulder to check. I managed to trip over my own feet and I hit the ground with laughter. I sat there laughing to myself when I heard footsteps coming towards me. It was an older boy, not by much. He had blonde spiky hair and blue eyes.

"Are you alright," The little boy asked. I giggled a bit and nodded. He helped me up and stood back a little.

"Thanks for asking. Hey I haven't seen you before. My name is Tifa."

"No, that's because I don't like to come outside much." He looked down at his feet. I only then just realised that he was shorter than me, not by much but just enough to be noticeable. We stood there in an awkward silence. He just looked down at his feet still as I stayed on look out for my friends.

"Well I better see where my friends are at, it was nice to meet you... uh"

"Cloud," He mumbled still looking down at his feet. "It was nice to meet you two."

I ran off and found my friends. "Who's he," one of the boys asked.

"I heard he was a vampire," one other joked whilst monster chasing the other with laughter.

"I don't know, I just met him."

"Your it!" One tagged me and all of them ran off.

"Hey!" I yelled and chased after them. I stopped and looked back at Cloud, he was sitting at his door step watching us. I felt a bit bad so I ran back over to him. When I got there, he looked up at me shocked.

"Hey Cloud, you wanna play chasey." I asked with a smile. He looked at me for a bit with wonder. I looked back for a quick check on my friends and back at him.

"I..." He started to say before he went a bit odd and ran back inside his house, slamming the door behind him. I stood there in shock, I didn't understand what just happen but I was sure he had his reasons.

"Tifa, you really suck at this," one boy yelled. I just smiled and nodded and chased after him.

He was a strange boy, but I would like to get to know him better.
