Im going to say that these stories might just make you cry... um if you have chronic fangirl disease (CFD) like me, where your heart has repeatedly been broken (A very serious condition), your chest always feels like it is going to explode (Doctors can't explain that one) and your face is always stained with tears because you are a fangirl, than this might add to your already evident symptoms.
WARNING, IF YOU BEGIN TO EXPERIENCE ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS, DON'T GO TO A DOCTOR OR HELP CENTER, THIS IS AN INCURABLE DISEASE AND THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO MEDICATIONS TO SLOW THE PROGRESSION OF IT.
Percy walked down the streets of upstate New York, trying to keep a smile on his face. Annabeth was at his side, griping his hand tightly. They made it to the corner of the street, receiving strange looks from several of the people.
A few of the little girls with their parents pointed at Percy's head, and their parents gave him weird looks as they steered their children away, muttering into their children's ears.
Annabeth would occasionally glance at Percy's head, tears in her eyes, and Percy would feel the tears trying to break their way into his eyes and flood onto his face.
They reached the Ice Cream Parlor, walking up to the order station and waiting in line. When it was their turn, the lady at the counter looked up saying,
"Hi, my name is Jen and- Sir there is a tiara on your head... You do realize that right?"
Percy nodded and she raised an eyebrow before continuing her previous statement.
"Alright, well I will be taking your order, what can I get you?"
Percy ordered, "A small vanila shake, a small chocolate shake, and a mint chocolate chip sundae, please."
The woman hurried with their orders and before long, Percy and Annabeth were on their way sipped his chocolate shake, Annabeth sipping her vanila one, the bag with the sundae gripped in her other hand. The continued down the country road, stopping at a lotto/gift shop.
Annabeth lead Percy in, letting go of his hand to go order balloons while he went to pick out one of the beanie baby stuffed animals. He decided on a newer one, a white unicorn with rainbow hair and sparkling eyes. Percy then grabbed a charm, for a charm bracelet. It was a silver owl, two green gems for eyes.
Annabeth paid for their items and left the store, fistful of balloons in the hand with the ice cream. Percy held the with the beanie baby and the charm in his other hand.
They continued down the street, hand in hand, still receiving looks of disgust and surprise on people's faces.
Finally, they made it to the flower shop, where a bouquet of flowers was already ready for them. Percy grabbed it, fresh, crisp white roses.
OoOoOoO
When they made it to the hospital, Annabeth's grip on Percy tightened further. Percy gripped her back, and they went through the front doors. The lady at the front desk gave them a nod and the couple walked to room 138-B.
Annabeth opened the door, Percy taking in a breath as she did.
"Hi sweetie." Annabeth said, Percy could hear her voice threatening to break.
"Hi Mommy. Hi Daddy. Did you have a good walk here?" The young girl asked.
Percy met her eyes, "Yeah, yeah we did. Everyone loved your tiara."
The girl's eyes sparkled, storm grey like her mom. Her pale head covered by a lovely christmas hat with glitter and pom-pom's. She smiled at the two of them again,
"Aunt Piper came by a little bit ago, brought me these." She gestured to the two small beanie babies that were new to her collection; a purple, pink, and green giraffe with a pink, orange and purple dog. Percy felt his hand tighten on the gift bag in his hand.
"We brought you something to Em."
"What?" Her face brightening with excitement.
Annabeth pulled out the ice cream sundae, handing it to Emerald, and then tying the balloons to the bed. Percy placed the gift bag at the foot of her bed before placing the white roses in green tinted water.
"You got me the roses!? Thank's daddy. And the ice cream too!? Just like when I was little." Emerald's face brightened even further as she pulled the unicorn and owl charm out of the bag. She hugged the unicorn tight before turning to Annabeth.
"Mommy, can you put this on for me?"
Annabeth obliged, attaching the owl charm to her necklace.
"It looks beautiful on you. Do you want your tiara too?" Annabeth asked sweetly.
"No, I want Daddy to wear it. Besides, It looks better on his head than mine." She leaned back in the bed, slowly eating her ice cream, "Daddy, can you tell me a story?"
Percy felt a lump form in his throat as he spoke. Annabeth chimed in here and there as they told of their adventures. When Percy met Annabeth, their first kiss (Em always smirked at that part), meeting Aunt Piper and Uncle Jason, The adventures with Uncle Frank and Aunt Hazel, College in New Rome, Getting married, Finding out Annabeth was pregnant... ect.
By the end of it, Em was drifting off to sleep. Her eyes falling shut. Percy gave her a kiss on the forehead, Annabeth doing the same before she fell asleep. Percy sat there for awhile, watching his daughter, tears pricking at the edge of his eyes. Seeing his daughter like this, with nothing else they can do, made Percy feel helpless. Their daughter was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer when she was nearly fourteen. Now seventeen, still clutching her childhood, Emerald was diagnosed, with stage four. None of the treatments were working, she was getting worse and worse.
Percy still held onto hope, he tried to be positive, but when your first and only daughter is diagnosed with cancer, and you can't do anything to help her get better, you feel pretty helpless.
After Percy found out he was a demigod, a lot of kids treated him like a hero, but Percy didn't feel like a hero. Percy felt like the worst father in the world.
So, that day, on Em's 17th birthday, when she flatlined in her sleep, and they made no effort to revive her, Percy broke inside. As she lay there in the coffin, Percy placed the tiara gently on her head, crying silently.
A part of him died that day. That part of him fell deeper than chaos, to where the old legends live. There would be no retriving that part of him.
It was gone forever, just like his daughter was.
This will be a full length story, with little one shots to make you scream, rip out your hair, you know, the usual. :) Love you all.
