First meeting

Takaomi was going back to his house after a fight with a rival gang, of course he had crushed them. He didn't really pay attention where he was going when something collided with his legs, he looked down to see a little girl hugging a stuffed bunny in her arms falling to the ground. Being a yankee and all he not only didn't help but glared at her with a look scary enough to make anyone run away quickly.

But the little girl didn't run away, she stayed there with her bunny crushing it a little more to her chest and looking at him with big eyes. Takaomi didn't know if it was by stupidity or simply because she was frozen with fear. In any case he didn't waste his time wondering and just left.

The next day he was in the parc of the neighbourhood with his bunch when they got embuched by the same guys than the day before. It seems the lesson from then didn't suffice, they had even brought friends with them, seeing this Takaomi smirked, the more the better, it meant more punching ball to take it out on. The fight began and as expected their opponents were beaten up, it's after he had finished 'cleaning' some guy that Takaomi noticed the girl from yesterday observing the scene with the same big eyes as before.

Just then a guy collapsed before her unwillingly draging the stuff toy of the girl with him. Takaomi expected the little girl to run sreaming, leaving her now stained with blood rabbit behind but it surprised him when she didn't yell and walked straight to the unconscious yankee and got her bloody bunny back hugging it to her once again while taking some steps back.

It's when she looked up and met the gaze of Takaomi that she became completely still, it seems her instincts of fear were still there. Takaomi headed toward her, sweeping several guys of the rival gang on his way then squatting down right before her watching her, their nose nearly touching.

- What's your name ?

- Ma… Mafuyu. She answered, her face drained of all colors.

Even though she was frightened by him she wasn't running in the opposing direction but talk to him. 'Interesting' Thought Takaomi.

It's like that that the two met, and some days later became aware that they were in fact neighboors and that in the year who followed they became so 'close' to each other and finaly some ten years later they met again in a certain high school in another town.

N/A : Well I hope you liked this little oneshot of mine. I wasn't sure about publishing it since their first meeting will probably be shown in the manga later but I liked it so in the end I did, and anyway in the manga it would probably be in the POV of Mafuyu unlike in my story.

This oneshot was inspired by an illustration of Vol 2 Ch 6 showing a teenage Takaomi and little Mafuyu (with her bunny).
