His touches were gentle. Not rough or regretful. They were light and gentle and they made me feel… like I belonged. Though I knew this would last one night, it was our one night. One night to realize we were human, and that we were more than alive, until tomorrow when we returned to guns, alchemy, and other miscellaneous weapons on the battlefield. Tonight was the one night we proved who we were to each other, how much we actually meant. It was the most amazing… even though I knew it would only last a moment, it was amazing… and I'd never forget it. At least… if I made it out of here.
"Roy," I whispered as his body molded into mine. We became one, and it was bliss.
His fingers locked within mine, and we enjoyed the collisions of each other's body.
'Equivalent exchange…' I wondered. How… did this equal to equivalent exchange, the rule the alchemists lived by? What had I done to deserve this? My job? That was no reason for me to experience such luxuries, as I was experiencing now.
He whispered my name, and it sounded amazing on his lips. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard the man on top of me say.
Collision after collision after collision, and then I was there. My body arched into his, and I cried out his name. All of my frustrations, and hopefully all of his came out in this passionate moment.
He cursed aloud in pleasure as he felt my climax, which ended with his own.
Collapsing overtop of me, his arms came around my waist. There was a murmur of something that for a moment I didn't understand… but then realized.
"I love you…"
Tears stung my eyes. I turned in his arms, relaxing into his body, and returned the words.
"I love you too…"
We sunk into the bed, blankets tangled around us, and waited for sunrise, where we would once again return to the normal living of battle. We might die, and we might live.
For now though, we were alive.
