Some people believe in fate. Others don't. Nathan Wornous was one of those who disbelieved that anything was really set in stone. Nothing happened on purpose. Everything was just coincidence.
But there's always something that changes skeptics into believers.
Audrey.
She was the one that had changed everything for him. Fate was real, it had to be. Audrey, the only person he could feel, the only person who hadn't shunned him or seen him as a freak, avoiding him at all costs.
It was her. From the moment she kissed him after Jess had left. He finally realized what fate was.
Maybe it had really been fate that Jess had left. It had also been fate that they had met. It had all been a prequel to Audrey.
Really, nothing had ever surprised Nathan as much as that second. It was like a whole world had been opened to him.
Maybe there was a reason behind it.
There had to be.
But he couldn't mess things up. Not know. They were friends and he didn't want to ruin that one chance to really feel again.
The truth was, she made him feel normal. Well, not completely, of course, but as close as if ever was going to get.
