Another sleepless night. I'm sore, and it seems I'm not drifting off anytime soon. I sit up, seeing that Peeta and Finnick are sound asleep beside me. I walk into the forest, up to the trees where I know Johanna is standing guard. By her posture and eyes, she's more worn out than me. She needs to sleep. "One of us might as well get some rest, go." I say quietly. "I'm fine Katniss. Can't sleep in a place like this anyway. You too? or just getting bored with loverboy?" She says, in a mischievous tone. It's obvious we aren't friends, It's like I rub her the wrong way. I guess it's because we all have to kill each other soon, but I need to know what I did to her. "I said I couldn't sleep." She makes my blood pump, I swear. "Go back, freeze, or guard with me and shut up." she snaps back.
I walk over, sitting down next to her under the camouflage blanket of leaves she probably stole from Finnick. "I'll shut up if you tell me what I did." I say, eagerly. She turns her head staring at the beach, lost in thought. "It's Snow. It's this place, the concept of this whole fucking thing! It's sick. Peeta, Fin, Everything! You wouldn't understand Katniss!" She goes to stand up but I drag her down, she's tired and can't put up a fight, so she settles next to me. Peeta? Is she interested in him, or killing him? "What does Peeta have to do with anything?" I ask because I'm keeping him alive, and if she's a threat It's better to know. She sighs, muttering "You really are brainless, aren't you?" and before I can respond one arms wrapped around me, the other running through my hair, and she's kissing me. In front of the world. We're dead, for sure. Every thought leaves my mind but one, this beautiful creature who I can't pull away from. Johanna Mason.
