The chill hit them the moment they stepped from the TARDIS.
"Where and when?" she asked him.
"Earth," said the Doctor. "December 24, 2567. Earlier this evening, a multi-national congress signed a treaty that begins a new age for the human race. Historians frequently remark on the stillness of the night."
His voice dropped, a whisper against the darkness. "I promise you, Tegan. Travel with me isn't always war and pain."
"Hmmm..." she muttered, pulling her coat tighter around her shoulders.
"Tegan..."
She ignored him. Tegan closed her eyes, and tried to find some of the night's stillness for herself.
