I got a prompt on tumblr and it was too long for the ask so i put it here.

"Wow!" Ash breathed as he stopped at a bakery. He saw the cakes in the window that were intricately decorated with flowers and pearls and the pastries in cool-looking shapes and marveled at how pretty they were. He decided to go in and buy a pastry. He bought a lemon one shaped like a pikachu.

"Wow, the cakes and stuff look really nice!" Ash said to the baker.

"Thanks, I guess," he said.

"I'm Ash. What's your name?"

"Paul," the baker said in a monotone, almost bored tone.

"I'll definitely be back!" Ash said as he left the bakery.

The next day, he returned and gazed at the window display, looking at the different cakes and pastries. He went in again and bought a cake.

"What's the occasion?" Paul asked, a light hostility detectable in his voice.

"It's my mom's birthday," Ash said with a huge smile.

"Hope you enjoy," Paul said in the same tone as Ash left the bakery smiling.

He went back every day to the bakery, Paul still showing either a hostile or bored attitude, which kinda made Ash a bit angry. But for some reason Ash kept coming back for more than just the really good baked goods.

"Let me just say you make really good pastries," Ash said with a smile one day.

"Thanks," Paul said with a slightly happy tone.

"It's interesting seeing you happy. I like it," Ash said. Paul scowled at this.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Paul said.

"I also wanna tell you how good-looking you are," Ash said.

"Oh really? How good-looking am I?" Paul asked.

"Well let's see... On a scale from 1-10, Id say you're an 11." This made Paul blush, people didn't usually compliment him, just the pastries.

"Hehe, thanks," Paul said sheepishly, a hand on the back of his head.

"No, really! I'm telling the truth!" Ash said.

"I get off work at 9, meet me here," Paul said.

"Oh, okay," Ash said, a little shocked.

That evening, Paul waited at the storefront after locking up for the night. He heard a light panting as he saw a figure running towards him. Ash stopped in front of him, catching his breath.

"Sorry I'm late," Ash said.

Paul smirked and he and Ash walked together.

That evening was spent checking out the nightlife in town.

"Hey Paul, you should come to my house," Ash said suddenly.

"Why?"

"I think you'd like it there?" Ash said, suddenly unsure.

"Yeah, sure. Let's go. Lead the way," Paul said. Ash beamed and took his hand. He led Paul to his house. Ash's mom was asleep already, so Ash took Paul straight up to his room.

"Nice room you've got," Paul said, looking around.

"Thanks. And thank you for showing me a fun evening!" Ash said. He grabbed Paul's shirt and kissed him, Paul's eyes wide in surprise. He melted into it quickly, though.

The next morning, Delia woke up and decided to check if her son came in last night. She knocked on the door.

"Ash, you in there?" No answer. She opened the door to find two bodies in the bed and clothes all over the floor. She slowly closed the door.

"I guess I'll leave you alone."
