Disclaimer: I don't own Sanctuary! And the song "F**kin' Perfect" is a song by P!nk.
F**kin' Perfect
As Helen sat down in her office chair she noticed a CD lying on her desk. Wondering where it came from she picked it up and read the note attached to it.
Hope this will cheer you up, my dear. Love N.
She smiled to herself and shook her head. This man always knew how to surprise her. She sat in her chair for another few seconds before getting up and walking over to her CD-Player. As soon as she pressed the play-button and the first sounds came floating through the speakers an even wider smile spread across her face. This was exactely what she needed right now. She sat down on her couch, closed her eyes and listened to the beautiful song which seemed to make all her worries fade away.
Made a wrong turn
Once or twice
Dug my way out
Blood and fire
Bad decisions
That's alright
Welcome to my silly life
Mistreated, misplaced, missundaztood
Miss "no way it's all good"
It didn't slow me down
Mistaken
Always second guessing
Underestimated
Look, I'm still around
Pretty, pretty please
Don't you ever, ever feel
Like you're less than
Fuckin' perfect
Pretty, pretty please
If you ever, ever feel
Like you're nothing
You're fuckin' perfect to me
When the song ended a few minutes later Helen had tears in her eyes. Those words had made her realize what her heart had known for over a century. He had never been only a friend to her, he was more. Like the first ray of light in the morning and the last breath before sleep at night. He was her constant, the only person she could run to in her entire life, knowing he would be there for her. And suddently it wasn't so hard for her to admit the truth: She loved him.
She also knew he cared for her, even loved her, but she never thought he could see what was going on inside her, how she really felt. And in moments like this she thanked God she had him in her life.
He heard gentle knocks on his door and after opening it he found Helen standing in front of him. Before he knew what was going on she leaned in and kissed him lightly. „Thank you, Nikola." Helen whispered before turning around and leaving again.
Still surprised, it took him a few seconds to realize what just happened and with a cheeky tone he called after her. „See, I knew you still like me!"
If only he knew the truth...
