When You Sing
Regret. That was all he felt as the cold and salty waters crashed against his wounds, the work of pirates.
How Mikau regretted this. He regretted failing to retrieve the Zora eggs, he regretted being caught by surprise by the pirate, cut opened, and thrown to the sea. But, what he mostly regretted was the fact that he would never see her again. Her smile would never be upon his sight any longer, and her voice…ah, her beautiful voice, would no longer fill his ears with happiness. How he regretted that he could no longer accompany his music with her voice, his arms felt stiff, already losing the battle. He could feel the soul being ripped from his body, as he felt the helping hand in green carry him through the waves.
Ah, how he regretted dying, for that meant her singing would never reach his ears, up in the heavens. If only her singing filled his ears once more, ah, if only…
The feeling of salty and cold water is gone, and all that remains is to wait. Wait for the waves of heaven to take him away, as he thinks about her singing, one more time, and regrets to hear it for the last time.
