Isn't it too far away?

" We didn't get along at first, but I guess I could blame your charm for that. "

Have you ever asked yourself, why we had to meet? The young man asked himself. Dark pitch was barely broken by a small dim light coming from an old lamp standing on the closest nightstand to bed. But, other than the plain light that was caressing the old wooden walls, a certain blue one was more attractive. Pulsing with the rithm of its owner's heartbeat, the glowing blue light seemed to disturb the young boy as he touched with one finger the red armour protecting it. How could you accept me when I'm bearing such a shame? He closed his fist, glaring at the arm just as if he was ready to rip it off. Only if he really could... In fact, since he met the "man in red" and since they found the mutual attraction for eachother, the younger boy learned that everything happens with a reason. So he learned from that man, he learned that no matter how bad something may seem to be, there is always a good part in everything. And he brought himself to believe these words. The words of the man that accepted him for who he was, and the same man that was now peacefully sleeping beside him.

"Hey, Nero! Where are you hiding?" He had been searching the teen for three hours now and it seemed that the younger man was nowhere to be. "Kid, if that's one of your jokes I swear I'll-" But he was intrerrupted by a noise. He could recognize the sound of the wall breaking into small matchwood and the sound of the tears breaking on the rough floor.

Dante rushed straight to the room the sounds were coming from and pushed the door open. He didn't give a second chance to think about what he had to do when he found the younger man hitting the wall with all his might, blood pouring here and there from his left human arm and small drops of salty water passing through the wooden floor. The older devil-hunter rushed to catch the teen's hand before they made another contact with the walls. "Why did you stop me?!" Nero yelled, but he was too exausted to fight bach the other man so he gave in, leaning slowly to cry against the other's chest. Dante didn't mind that, he wrapped his arms around the younger devil-hunter and petted his head to reassure him everything was fine.

"Dante... why was I cursed with such life?" Cursed...? That certainly wasn't the word for it. "But it's not a curse Nero, with or without that hand or the demon blood inside you, you will remain the same. The same cocky kid that I met in Fortuna, the same fearless devil-hunter and what's most important... the same Nero that I love."

Lost in his thoughts, the young man was brought back to reality by a gentle hand that took grasp of his Devil Bringer. Surprised and curious at the same time, Nero looked at the man beside him, whose eyes were now half open. Blue sparks arise when their sights locked and the older devil-hunter smiled. "You're thinking too much again. Your inner devil is much more noisy than you think." No matter what it would be like, in Dante's eyes Nero remained the same. A kid brave enough to make his human heart beat again.

"You said you would kick my ass back then, and instead, you took a hit right to my heart and warmed it back once again."
