Hermione reached the entrance to the dining hall.

"Hello! Hermione, welcome back!"

"Thanks, Sir Nicholas!" She looked toward where she could see Ron & Harry, sitting & talking exhuberantly with the other kids at their table. Then someone noticed her.

"Look! It's Hermione!" Harry & the others quickly gazed over, and seeing her there- they still couldn't believe it. Ron smiled, and Harry too, both laughing.

Hermione seemed to shine with relief- and suddenly she was running down to them, as Ron & Harry jumped out of their seats.

It was Harry who caught her in a great hug, and they laughed together. She went to hug Ron, but- stopped. Maybe- She glanced down, then at him again.

"Uh- eh- um- ahem..." Ron stuttered, not knowing what really to say. Hermione smiled again, then extended her hand, and they shook. "Wel- welcome back, Hermione!" He managed to get out his greeting.

"It's good to be back!" She paused & mused over her amazement. "Congratulations- I can't believe you solved it!" Harry looked to Ron & their eyes met.

"Well, we had loads of help from you!" He exclaimed, as Ron nodded in avid agreement. "We couldn't have done it without you!" He owed it all to her.

"Thanks." Her grateful smile was full of warmth.

Hearing a glass being tapped by a spoon, it was Prf. McGonagall.

"Could I have your attention please?" Ron, Hermione & Harry obediently took their seats.
