Sam gazed over at the small angel sitting on the slightly stained motel bed. Sam's face split into a smile. Gabriel had a bag of candy next to him, an assortment of lollipops, chocolate bars and round, fruity flavored gummies. He was sucking on lollipop and laying out wrappers from previously eaten candy.

It was so strange, how Gabe could go from a fearless and wicked archangel, to a quiet and sweet seemingly harmless angel. In fact, right now he looked more like a small child than a being that could wipe out a whole city in a blink of an eye.

Sam sighed contently, quietly shutting his laptop. Gabriel made him so happy.

"Hey Moosfe?" Gabriel turned to Sam, his words distorted by his red and yellow lollipop.

"Hmm?"

"Can you take me to the Zoo?"

Sam was surprised by Gabe's request, but his heart swelled up.

"Uh, yeah, of course." He smiled.

Gabriel nodded and pulled himself up. Slowly his gray wings unfurled from his back, stretching out, shaking and rustling. They fluttered lightly, the feathers rippling like water and Gabriel levitated of the shabby floor and stretched his arms out.

"Carry me?" he said pleadingly.

Sam chuckled lightly and stood up. He turned, facing away from Gabe, and felt his angel cling to his back like a heavenly back pack. His arms wrapped around Sam's neck, and his legs wrapped around Sams hips.

"Moose?" Gabriel whispered as Sam reached for the door knob.

"Yes?"

"I love you."

Sam paused, "I love you too."
