Lovino turned over restlessly in their bed. He blew a breath on Gilbert's face real quick to make sure the man was asleep. Gilbert muttered some unintelligable language in his sleep and he was out like a log after that.

He slipped quickly out of their bed, and went over to the dresser and pulled out a pair of ironed jeans and a dark blue v-neck tee-shirt.

He tossed his pyjamas in the trash bin, as he walked out of the room they had shared for about a year now. He loved Gilbert but he honestly thought that he could do much better than himself.

He pulled a note out of the hidden bedroom drawer that he had written for him. The pain of telling him in person would be too much too bear.

He slipped the small ring off of his ring finger and placed it on top of the note. Gilbert had proposed about six months ago and Lovino couldn't deal with the thought of himself being such a crappy husband in the future to a man who could do way better than him.

He grabbed the suitcase out of the hall closet and pulled it out. He slung the shoulder bag over his shoulder and walked towards the front door. His eyes scanned the small apartment one last time as he left, closing the door behind him.

It had been one week since Lovino left him. Gilbert rose from the bed, it stilled smelled faintly of the younger man.

There had only been a three year difference between the men. He had met Lovino that first day at-

No! He couldn't go down this path in the morning. He got up, washed his face, and brushed his teeth and was getting the table ready.

He pulled out enough silverware, cups, and plates. He set two matching seating arragnments. Just incase Lovino comes back, Gilbert told himself as he placed a tea kettle on.

He sat down, waiting for the tea before he stood back up and put some bread in the toaster. After it not going down after the third try, Gilbert picked it up and threw it agasint the wall. He now had a huge dent in the wall and a broken toaster.

Lovino stood on the train platform. Not able to get on and leave. He couldn't even think about anything except Gilbert.

He couldn't leave him. Not ever.

He turned on the balls of his feet. Headed back home as he walked off.

Gilbert sat at the table, alone. Staring at the extra table setting. He stabbed his fork uselessly into the scrambled eggs he made. His appetite was gone and if it was there it was barely existent.

He heard the doorbell ring as he pushed his place into the center of the table. He got up and wen to answer the door. He opened the door slowly.

There stood Lovino with his suitcase and bag. "I'm sorry," was all he got out before Gilbert wrapped him in a loving kiss. He felt every firework again as they kissed but unlike the last one, this wasn't going to be the finale.
