Shadow Temple Through the Ages

All you who played Ocarina of Time in '98...what part of the game would you say was the scariest? No...you don't have to answer-I can tell. The Shadow Temple, right? But why, you may wonder, was this place so terrifying and disturbing? What's up with all the torture devices and monsters, like Dead Hand and Bongo Bongo? And why'd Impa stay there? Let's find out, shall we?

It all started when the king of Hyrule said that one order to shiek the first. I know that you know our fighting styles but the gods have told me to make the shiekah race extinct. But why your majesty? Eventually the whole World could know about the fighting style that the gods taught Link the first. This is traitorous behavior we made vows. So the shiekah declared war on the royal family and the hylians. At that time Link the second was about to be born and was sent to the kokiri forest for refuge. Links mother passed away when link was born. The Deku tree knew that this was no ordinary child. He was going to be a hero.

During the war links father died from a shiekah dagger to the heart. The hylians won the battle and the shiekah race was gone.

The shiekah were supposed to guard a torture chamber called The Shadow Temple. Since there were no more shiekah men to guard this chamber all of the dead spirits joined together to make a being that was called dead hand. This being tortured people until they died. There was also a being that the hylians said to look after because he was one of the first monsters that came to the shadow temple. His name was bongo bongo. His hobby was to play the drums. He is the king of The Shadow Temple.

His hands were cut off from his arm to make it safer for the citizens.
