Forcing Laughter, Faking Smiles.
Their first dance had just ended. Blaine and Kurt couldn't have been more happy. They had just been married less than an hour ago, and now they had just finished dancing, John McLaughlin's So Close fading in the background.
Pulling Kurt into a kiss, Blaine smiled. "I love you husband."
Murmuring against the porcelain skin he loved so much, he took Kurt's hand in his, laced their fingers expertly together. They had decided to skip the whole mother-son dance, seeing as Kurt's mother was no longer alive. Carole had been very understanding, telling Kurt she would just have to sneak a dance in later on that night.
They were going to sit back down at their table when the DJ came over the speakers. "We'd like to have Kurt Hummel and his father Burt down to the dance floor for the father-son dance. Blaine looked at Kurt, faking a smile, letting him know he was happy he and Burt got to share a dance. Kurt kissed him quickly before going down to the wood floor, dancing with his father he loved so much.
It was about halfway through the dance that Kurt looked up and saw Blaine was no longer at the table where he had left him. Kurt bit his lip, but kept dancing, trying to get his mind off his husband for the next minute and a half.
As the song ended, Kurt kissed his father's cheek and walked off calmly, but right when he was off the parquet floor, he ran. He ran to the bathroom, opening it slowly to find his husband sitting on the floor, his arms around himself as if he were really holding himself together. Tears were falling down his face, his body wracked with sobs.
The raven-haired boy looked up at Kurt.
"God..I-I'm so sorry Kurt. I just-" Blaine was cut off by Kurt sitting on the floor next to him wrapping his arms securely around his small frame.
"No. Don't be sorry. This shouldn't have happened Blaine." Kurt soothed, running a hand through the curls he loved to play with at night.
"Why doesn't he love me? They love me? What did I do!" Blaine asked, his voice raising, his breaths shaky and inconsistent. He felt like his world was falling apart at the seams.
"I don't know honey. I don't know. I do know they're missing out though. They're going to regret they didn't come to their son's own wedding." Holding him still, Kurt pressed a kiss on Blaine's forehead softly.
"Let's go back out there. We need to be tending to our guests." Blaine said after a few minutes of silence. Wiping his eyes and face, he grabbed Kurt's hand, walking back into the small bubble of acceptance.
