Captain Azula Kasai - Commander of ODA 1211

Born into a military family and the daughter of the famed General Ozai Kasai, Azula groomed herself to be a prodigal military commander. Confident in her abilities, she drills herself constantly both physically and mentally, and pushes her subordinates to be the same. Always in control of herself, Azula reacts to any situation with calculating precision and no loss of composure, always performing to her very best. Being the top of her academia, Azula was a prized cadet at the United States Military Academy of West Point, quickly deciding to major in political science. Finishing first out of a class of almost twelve hundred, Azula also completed both Airborne and Air Assault schools during the summer between her third and fourth years, a rare occurrence that some believe may have been her father's doing. This is also reinforced by the fact that Azula held an official platoon leader's position during Cadet Troop Leader Training, rather than customarily shadow a commissioned officer.

Regardless, Azula excelled in her training and education and was branched to the Infantry and sent off to Ranger School. Always showing initiative and taking charge, Azula earned high marks during the stressful training, never showing any sign of weakness. Despite some of the reservations of the Ranger Instructors, who believed Azula intimidated some of her fellow Rangers into following her, Azula became the first woman to earn the Distinguished Honor Graduate, also known as the William O. Darby Award. Assigned to the First Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne, Azula led a platoon of paratroopers into some of the most dangerous terrain in Afghanistan and did not lose a single one to enemy fire thanks to her flawless planning and adaptability. In addition to be awarded a Bronze Star for completing her deployment, Azula was awarded a second Bronze Start for successfully leading a raid that resulted in the capture of a high value target that was of interest to Special Forces. Despite not being the senior lieutenant of her company, Azula was selected to be the executive officer for the next deployment, a role in which she excelled thanks to her meticulous planning. After this tour, Azula volunteered for Special Forces training, believing her talents were wasted in the regular army.

After the two and half years of training, Azula graduated from the Special Forces Qualification Course tops of her class, and after finishing her Japanese language and cultural training, she was assigned as the commander of the First Operational Detachment Alpha, Alpha Company, Second Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, or ODA 1211, which is focused on the Pacific and Asian theaters. While her teammates respect and value her abilities as their commander, they are not without their concerns. Their largest concern is Azula's ambitions as an officer, which may cause them, or at least Azula herself, to the breaking point. Regardless, they trust Azula, and she commands their respect… and a bit of their fear.
