Left Alone
Glinda the Good had hid her tears from the citizens of Oz for as long as she could. It was finally time to let those long-awaited tears fall.
Glinda knelt down on the floor of Kiamo Ko, her shoulders trembling slightly.
"Oh Elphie, it's all my fault," she sobbed, wrapping her arms around her body, trying even then to conceal the hurt she was feeling in her heart.
"You were the only friend I ever had…"
Elphaba's words stayed in Glinda's head as she cried. Glinda was her only friend, and she had let her down.
She was a failure.
It was as simple as that. She had failed to see how disrupt the Wizard was, to see that Fiyero was inexplicitly in love with Elphaba, that she had done so many things in the past that she regretted, how she failed to keep Fiyero safe, and how she had failed to save Elphaba.
"I failed you both. I'm so sorry," cried out Glinda to an empty castle.
The blonde's crystal blue eyes were swimming with tears, and she let them fall as they may.
Finally after a while, she stopped crying. She knew it did no good to cry. They were gone, dead and gone forever.
It was no use crying for dead people. Glinda sat there on the floor for a while afterwards. She wondered if Elphie would ever forgive her for not saving her. But deep down Glinda knew that Elphaba hadn't wanted her to get involved. Elphaba would rather have Glinda in the shadows than in harms way.
That was a true friend.
Once the despair and loss left Glinda, she got up and left the looming castle with a heavy heart.
Glinda the Good went off in her bubble to celebrate with Oz the death of the Wicked Witch of The West. To the rest of Oz, Glinda's life was as thrillifying and busy as the Wizards.
But to Glinda, she was all alone in the world.
Empty and left alone to fend for herself.
She gave the crowd another adoring smile, hiding the fact that her heart was breaking into pieces right before their very eyes.
