Summary: An interesting situation prompts the two detectives to come to terms with their true feelings.
A/N: Just a quick one-shot. I could always turn it into a story, but I'm not sure. Please R&R!
Steel Force
Olivia Benson was not afraid of anything. She had seen everything in life; it came with the territory of being a detective. She had been held at gun point, taken down the world's most dangerous rapists, and seen the most gruesome murders. However, the giant steel roller coaster before her made her kneels buckle and her head spin.
"No, not going to happen!" Olivia spun on her heels only to crash straight into Elliot's chest.
"You're not getting off that easy Benson," Elliot spun her back around grasping her shoulders. "You somehow manage to escape every year, but now I've got my eye on you."
Every year the department took a trip to Dorney Park. The annual escape was a way for the detectives to let loose and remove the pressure of work from their shoulders. Yet, somehow every year Olivia vanished right before the gang got on the coasters. While a welcomed vacation for most, Olivia would rather face the horrors of the world than a 205 foot drop.
Olivia felt her heart rate speed up as they approached the large line for the coaster. Olivia stopped. Her brain wouldn't allow her feet to move forward even if she had wanted her to.
"Move it, Benson," Elliot gave Olivia's ass a playful tap.
"Yea," Munch said. "It is only a 205 foot drop. The coaster is based on simple physics calculations."
Olivia tried to turn and dodge Elliot, but he snagged her by the belt loop on the back of her pants.
"Man, shut up. It is all good baby-girl," Fin glared at Munch before turning back to Casey Novak.
As much as Olivia tried to come up with an excuse as to avoid the coaster, her mind was blank. Elliot's hand on the small of her back forced her to move forward with everyone else in line.
"Look at that!" Olivia said nodding towards the sign with the coaster's facts and rules.
"Yes, Liv, it is a sign." Elliot said laughing at Olivia's nervous blankness.
"No, El, it says pregnant women may not board the ride," She said with a straight face pointing out the regulation on the sign.
"Liv, I didn't…" Elliot seemed taken back.
"Gullible moron," Olivia cracked a smile at Elliot's sudden mood change.
The truth was Elliot was nervous. If that hadn't been a joke Elliot's world would've been shattered. He wanted Olivia pregnant, but with his kid. Kathy and Elliot were divorced months ago, and the tension between him and Olivia kept growing stronger. However, both were afraid to make a move despite the unspoken and unbreakable bond. Olivia was always there for him and his kids. She was the hope, the strength, and the light in his life. He would give up anything for her, and he knew very well she felt the same way.
"Miss, you can't do that!" Elliot was awoken from is daydream by an employee's yelling. He looked up to see Olivia trying to climb over the bars and down the side of the coaster's platform.
"Babe!" Elliot yelled picking Olivia up.
Olivia was too shocked by the fact he called her babe to notice she was being strapped in.
The 205 foot climb took Olivia's breath away, but not in a good way. She clung to Elliot's arm. Digging her nails in deeper with every click of the track. The strange thing was Elliot felt stronger, needed, and confident. He finally felt like she was open and he was who she depended on for once.
Elliot told her to breathe and to close her eyes. At the very top of the hill, Elliot took Olivia's face in his hands. He pressed his lips to hers,
"I love you!"
The coaster dropped and Olivia screamed, laughed, and smiled but never took her eyes away from the blue ones that were staring back at her.
