"Good luck Light!" Sayu shouted as Light Yagami left his humble abode to start a new beginning at To-oh University in the Kanto region of Japan where he would study for the next couple of years before he could finally manage to earn a living; his sister Sayu Yagami still waving frantically, had tears streaming down her face just like her mother did. Her all round genius of a brother was a true inspiration to her. Light took after his father, Soichiro. The same dark brown eyes, intelligent genes and the connection they both shared. Sadly, his father couldn't be there to watch Light go...the task force had pulled him in to discuss yet more killings over the Kira case.
As Light pulled away from all the fuss of his leave, he actually managed to make his way to To-Oh with Ryuk slowly following behind munching on some apple he had found lying on the floor. Well...it was better than the apples in the ShiniGami Realm; they just tasted like sand (Like a human apple that had been left to rot for a million years!) Light was the only one could see the careless Shinigami. Unless someone passing owned a DeathNote, it just looked like an ordinary apple...only it was floating in mid air and trailing after Light.
"Hey, Light, you listening to me? Ryuk's husky voice echoed in the bleak September morning but no reply answered his question.
"Oi Light, you better answer me; I'm starting to get annoyed here! If I don't have another apple I will start doing odd actions that you don't want to see...
Still no reply came from him, he didn't even turn around...It was as if he was in some sort of trance.
"Alrighty then...if he doesn't answer me, then he's gonna have to play it my way...hyuk hyuk."
Ryuk's alien like body started to twist in to all sorts of shapes. One minute he was doing handstands, then the apple dance, then twisting his head upside down. And then he combined all three. He looked like some crazed nutter that had escaped from the madhouse. Even the beating of his wings and strangled cat-like singing couldn't even tempt Light.
Suddenly Lights head shot up out of his trance as if he had woken up from a bad dream.
"Huh, what was that? Oh...sorry Ryuk...what did I miss?
"Wha-what did you miss? I NEED AN APPLE! THAT'S WHAT! You've been stuck in some sort of trance for the last 10 minutes and you ask me what you've missed?"
"Oh right...I guess I've got a lot on my mind at the moment with University and being Kira and that. I'm kinda stressed out. But anyway here..." Light tossed Ryuk another apple as he reached To-Oh's gates.
"Woah! Apple! Munch munch... Hmm... how can I describe these human apples...Juicy?
