Prologue: Abhorash the Blood Dragon and Jaune Arc
That's first, Abhorash thought as he disposed of the alpha of the Beowolf pack, he had been tracking this pack ever since the mission was granted to him by the people of Ansel, a growl was heard as the red-armored warrior dodged a tackle from one of the pack mates of the alpha before driving his ax on another one killing the Beowolf instantly, that's the second, he counts as he began to rush on the remainder of the pack hiding in the bushes killing three of them, that's the third, fourth, and fifth, he turns and lets himself get caught by a swipe from the last two of the Beowolves only to have them be stabbed by his swords.
"Go back to the void where your mistress belongs" he snarls as he quickly pulls his blades out of their flesh their dying screams the only sound in the forests near Ansel, as the bodies of Beowolves around Abhorash dies he sighs and then decides to go back to the village to get his reward. Abhorash had arrived on this world after the end times, a Remnant of the battle between the forces of Chaos and order. He had met new creations, new humans, and two new gods, the god of light and the god of dark, Abhorash remembers the beginnings of this world Remnant as it was called, two ego-maniac gods decided to throw judgment on mankind by collecting and combining the relics, it seems too excessive and unnecessary for Abhorash to put judgment on mankind by having them seek such relics as a Questing knight would seek the Lady of the Grail.
Abhorash pushes out the bush nearby as he finds the familiar dirt road that connects Ansel to other settlements built by Vale, he notes the shrine built for himself at the entrance of the village, a reminder of his deeds to the people of this new world, a city and a religion was even dedicated to him much to his disapproval, a couple of priests of Abhorapolis began to light candles on the shrine praying to him through the chants of old Nehekhara, for the love of-, Abhorash swore to himself as he began to count to ten to calm himself once more before going to the village meeting hall to gather his payment.
As he was accosted by the wiry village elder, a child caught his eye. The boy is of seven years of age, he is gold of hair with blue eyes that reminded him of Gilles le Breton the founder of Bretonnia, even if Abhorash looks closely the boy looked like Gilles himself when the Royarch was just a child or as Gilles mother often told stories of the dead man, "please" the village elder snapped Abhorash out of his thoughts as he was led to the man's office. it was richer than all of the usual village offices Abhorash had seen, clearly the man had been leeching off from his constituents.
"Wine elder?" the serving girl said as the Village Elder waved her off to which the woman quickly get the vintage wine and cups to which Abhorash was served by the serving girl to which he gestures his thanks.
"Mr. Kolesh" the village elder began by saying the name he goes by now, "what news of the Beowolves? Will they threaten us anytime?" Abhorash now named, Kolesh Basa, drank from his wine before looking at the man in the eye.
"You wouldn't have to worry about them, I've taken care of it" he said giving the village elder a knowing look as the old man simply downed his drink and then went towards underneath his desk presenting a huge pillar of lien to Abhorash.
"Here's your pay, of course you wont have to worry about me forgetting them" he says as the immortal Blood Knight just took it and store it to his pocket, "you're also welcome to the village tavern if you like!" the Village Eder said as Abhorash get up and leave the place, he was not one to spend his money on useless necessities such drink and company, of course he had an admirer following him as he head home.
"Can you teach me?" the boy he had met from the Village Elder's house asked as Abhorash sat outside of his shack, the boy had been following him ever since he had left Ansel to the comfort of his simple shack, "you are strong, you are a huntsman, I want to be like a huntsman too" the boy said as Abhorash continued to ignored him but decided to talk to the boy to try and discourage him.
"I will not teach you boy go home" he said, his words not discouraging the boy as he just looks at him standing in front of his shack, like Gilles when he puts his mind into something, Abhorash thought as he decided to do something that would practically drive the boy away, before the boy could sit on the ground to wait for him, "boy I will teach you..." the boy quickly sprung to his feet but Abhorash held out his hand "...only if you answer this riddle" he says as the boy looks at him with an expression of confusion.
"What is it?" he asks as Abhorash began to think of old Nehekharan riddles that he had once played with his friends when he was a child, before Nagash and Neferata did the most foolish things and created the unlife.
"The way is always forward, but it is also always circular, it is worthwhile, it is hard but at the end of the day it ends just as a candle burns out, answer this riddle boy and I will teach you" he said as he began to close the doors of his shack leaving the boy to ponder on the riddle.
Morning came as Abhorash peered through his door, to his surprise the boy slept outside of his house, sighing he used the backdoor of his shack, he needed to give the boy some food or else he'd be accused of killing the boy by neglect. trapping and hunting down deer and rabbits was easy for him but it was also hard for sometimes the Grimm would often try to sneak and try to attack him but its a good thing he had cleared the area before he had staked his claim of the area as his personal gardens and hunting grounds, after taking some shrooms and other spices in the forest he went back to his shack to prepare a stew.
He went out through the front doorway looking at the already waking form of the boy he set down the stew letting him be as he grabbed the bowl and spoon, "thanks!" he said as he began to dig in to the food.
"What is your name boy?" he asks as the boy looks at him and then points to himself with his spoon blue eyes shimmering as he did so, reminding him of Gilles when they first met, Abhorash knew that this boy had something in him, that would make him a hero.
"My name is Jaune Arc, I want to be a huntsman, I want to be a hero and also the answer to your riddle is Life, life moves forward always and also circular it is like a candle because for better or worse it all ends" the boy said as Abhorash simply sighed as he knew his life would be too much interesting once more in this new world.
"Good" he said as he quickly swept the boy off balance with a quick kick in the legs, "correct your form boy, how can you be a swordsman if you don't know how to balance your legs!" Abhorash snaps as Jaune stands up and he quickly demonstrates the correct way of standing in a fight, and so Abhorash takes on his first apprentice in the new world.
Author's note: okay new story, since everyone never knew about Abhorash of Warhammer Fantasy, I decided to introduce him to remnant as a mentor to young Jaune Arc the lovable dork of RWBY so yeah if you think the riddle is bad well I wanted to at least give a nod to Goblin Slayer where he was taught by Burglar through riddles and child abuse but anyway what do you think?
Criticisms and Praises are appreciated!
