One of these days, Megumi was going to have to ask Colon where she had learned to do this.
She could understand being programmed to fight and handling the mecha-- it was only logical. But what perplexed her were Colon's characteristics that could be considered only human: dancing, laughing... and now, it seemed, a fondness for brushing Megumi's hair.
"Your hair's so soft, Megumi!" she chirped as she continued running the brush through the dark strands. "It makes me wish I had some of my own. I'd probably spend all day just trying to figure out braids, though."
There was always the chance that this was also part of her programming, added in to make Colon seem less mechanical... but no, Megumi couldn't bring herself to believe that. It just came so naturally to Colon, the way someone's quirks in their personality would, not blips of data for a computer. Although, Megumi realized as she felt metal fingertips against the side of her face, the fact that Colon didn't feel the way she'd expect a machine to might be affecting her judgment: Colon's hands were hard and smooth like metal, yes, but there was a warmth (a gentleness) to them that machines weren't supposed to possess...
But as she felt Colon's hands on her face again, Megumi decided to forget any questions she had for now, and enjoy the warmth instead.
