To destroy death or control it would be the greatest gift of all.
He went down like a bird with wounded wings. And we saw the energy plume behind him.
The year was 10 060 and the city was London, England.
Two girls and a guy sat on The Wall. The barrier between the Love dimension and Earth. The Love dimension was the home of the demigods, separate to heaven. Heaven and hell are home to angels, the oldest race in the universe, and the sons of God.
The man who got shot was called Nathaniel. He didn't die. But his energy was leaking. The war. Or so it was still called had lasted 1000s of years, between good and evil and various shades of grey.
The wall.
Rose: We have two hours to get the sword to destroy the last sliver of death energy.
David: can't be destroyed by titanium, Rose.
He paused as if unsure how to phrase that.
David: we can't bring her back. Our daughters dead.
Apollo came to the wall covered in blood.
Apollo: Blood bath out there. If we keep going this way all the angels are going to end up dead.
David: your side started it.
Apollo: and your side intend to finish it, I suppose.
He looked angry but his arms were shaking.
David: Go to hell...aren't you late for your wife?
Apollo: I've just escaped death once; if I'm late for her I don't fancy my chances.
He grinned.
Apollo: Alright, continue muttering to yourself.
Rose: Always.
David: There's a ceasefire next week. We'll get the sword from the forest of Nebadon. And then we'll talk to Michael, to see what he thinks about the dark matter resurfacing.
Rose: cool. You'd better be on time.
She winked.
Nebadon. Also known as the rural bit of heaven.
Rose: we have two hours before the guards know we are here. I brought weaponry.
David: you always do.
Rose was about as peaceful as an atomic bomb, but he had always liked that about her.
Rose: I brought arrows but I'm not sure how well we'll be able to see. The forest is pitch black and full of demons.
David: elemental or angel.
Rose: Angels, you think I'm going up against a full blooded elemental in these clothes.
David raised an eyebrow.
David: I guess not.
They kissed.
