A/N: I wrote this yesterday and I was going to post it that day but I had a lot of requests to fill and I had to plan the next chapter to my Avenger series. A little heads up: Clint and Bruce are married. Their kids are Loki and Thor, hence it being an AU story. I hope you like it and I hope this is filling enough because the next chapter might take a while. :)
"Is it the big day?" Peter whispered, excited. He was 12 now and today was the 4th of July, daddy's birthday. He had been planning for this since he was told his father was born on Independence Day. He want it to be perfect.
"It is buddy. Can you help me make those red, white, and blue pancakes, like you promised?" Tony asked, picking his son up to balance on his hip.
"Sure thing, papa."
They set about doing just that. Natasha had found the recipe and had Peter bring it to Tony for her (she really didn't need a sarcastic comment.) It called for pouring a small amount of red batter into the center, white around it, and then blue. Peter had a more steady hand, so he pour while Tony mixed.
They got so caught up in the moment, they didn't notice their favorite Captain slip in.
"Is this for me?" Steve asked quietly. He saw all the breakfast they had made. Bacon, egg, and who could miss the pancakes. They were his favorite. His husband and son turned to him. They stared, wondering what he was going to do next.
Until he jumped up and kissed Tony.
"EWWWW! Dads, no!" Peter screamed as his parents kissed. He covered his eyes and grimaced. Steve broke from the kiss and chuckled. He lifted the scrawny 12 year old and kissed his forehead.
"Thanks, guys. This has been the best birthday ever." Steve said hugging his son and husband.
"Oh, it's just getting started." Peter said, smiling mischievously at his parents. Even Tony looks dumbfounded.
It really wasn't.
They had the most amazing day! It started with watching the Parade in Time Square. It had a float, that Tony bought for Steve, and their whole family (Bruce, Clint, their kids Thor and Loki, Natasha, even Coulson) hopped on.
They then went to Central Park for a outdoor concert. It played lots of American music and then went straight to "Wild Boy" by MGK (Steve got the reference.)
It ended with a peaceful firework show. Everyone sat on blankets and watch as brilliant fireworks were fired into the night sky. Smiles were beaming all around.
"Tony, Peter, thanks again. This has been the best birthday ever." Steve said, beaming at the night sky.
"I love you daddy."
"I love you too, bubby."
"And I love you too, Steve." Tony piped up, still staring at the sky.
Steve turned his head from the sky to Tony. He smiled and tilted his husbands head down to kiss him gently.
"I love you too, Tony."
