Scars & Bonds
"Come Naruto, let's break those bonds,"
Naruto's eyes slowly open. He sighed and sat up on his messy bed. The blonde reached over to the small table beside his bed and picked up his alarm clock. With a bright red light, the clock blinked 2:30. Naruto sighed and sat the machine back on the old table.
Naruto swung his legs over the side of the bed, causing the sheets that were covering his body to slide off. He yawned as he rose from the mattress. He fumbled around for a second until he found the light switch. He flipped the switch and winced a little when the lights came on. THe lights reflected of the crystal necklace hanging around his neck. Naruto touched the transparent mineral and rolled it around in his hand. He sighed and let the necklace drop and hit his tan chest.
He quickly moved across the room, shivering slightly as his bare feet touched the cool floor. He went over to a shelf and reached up to the top shelf and pulled down a piece of dark blue fabric with a thin sheet of steel attached to it. The steel sheet had a symbol that resembled a leaf carved into it and there was a deep cut across the symbol.
The blonde stared at the marked out symbol. His grip tightened around the cold steel. While still tightly holding the headbadn, Naruto walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He leaned against the wooden door and slid down. He sat on the hard floor and threw his head back, banging his head against the wood, lightly cursing under his breath. "Damn it Sasuke, look at what you've done to me." He looked down, "You invaded my thoughts when i'm awake and I can't find any peace in my sleep. I've haven't slept well since you've left. I just keep repeating that stupid day over adn over in my head."
The blonde sighed as the raven's words echoed in his head, "let's break those bonds," Naruto chuckled and gave a small melancholy smile, "Well, your bond breaking idea obviously failed teme because I still feel the same for you as I did before." He placed his hand over his heart, "I-I still love you." Naruto then looked at the headband once more, "and you don't know how many hours I've spent crying over you, trying to hide my sadness from Sakura and everyone else." Naruto quickly stood and angerly threw the headband across the room, yelling, "Why did you leave teme! Why did you leave everyone, Sakura...me! Did you know how much it hurt to fight you! It took every fiber in my being to throw every single one of those punches!"
Naruto breathed slowly, his voice cracking as he continued, "But you don't care...the only thing you ever cared about was your revenge. You hated your brother, but you never realized that you were becoming like him. Your revenge poisoned you and corrupted you. It made you become power hungry and it turned you into something different, something ugly..."
He trembled slowly as he sat back down. The blonde closed his eyes, trying his hardest not to burst into tears. He quietly spoke, "Damn it...the more i try to hate you, the more my love for you grows." he smirked softly, "God, why me..."
Naruto stood up and slowly opened the door. He calmly walked towards his bed, only stopping to look at the clock. He whispered under his breath, "2:35..., happy birthday to me..."
