It is a well know fact that Portgas D. Ace is not a morning person.

It is a well know fact that Portgas D. Ace is not a morning person at all.

So, when Sabo, being the keeper of both him and Luffy, shakes him violently at one in the afternoon, trying to wake him up, Ace was not what they call a 'happy bunny'.

'Ugh...' Signs of life emerge. Sabo silently thanks the gods, and rolls his eyes at the 'sleeping beauty'. He smiles softly; Oh, you...

'Wake up, Ace.' Sabo shakes him again, albeit this time, more gently than the last.

Then comes the expected, groggy reply. 'Five more minutes.'

'Did you forget what day it is, sleeping beauty?' Sabo playfully teases Ace. A pause. 'C'mon, Ace, don't give me the silent treatment just b'cause I wo – Oah!'

Because the two of them are on the singles bed that Ace slept on – before his sleep was rudely interrupted by Sabo, and because Ace pushes his blanket away, Sabo, being caught off guard by this sudden movement, makes an uncushioned fall off of the bed to the hard, laminated floor.

'You're gonna get it, pretty face! I'm not a sleeping beauty to anyone!' He smirks; lunging at Sabo's weak spot, aaand tickles him.

'N-no, s-stop!' Sabo manages to say in between bouts of laughter.

When they finally calm down, they breathe deeply, with contented sighs.

'We should be going now.' Ace interrupts the comfortable silence the two brothers were sharing.

'Oh? Since when did you ever take charge, O great brother?' Sabo teases Ace again.

'Since when I was made captain of the basketball team, from all the way back when I was still young, and it's the absolute truth.' He boasts, proudly.

'Well, you're still young now.'

'Your friends won't be if you don't pick them up from the airport.'

'My friends can wait. It's been a while since the last time we were fully relaxed, together. Right now, you need to have brunch. And I know how my dear brother loves pancakes with syrup!'

Ace's eyes widen, grinning from ear to ear. 'Seriously, bro, where would I be without you?' He pulls Sabo into a warm, loving hug.

'Prob'ly... Still in bed, sleeping.' Now it's Sabo's time to smirk.

'Shut it, mister, or else, I would selfishly eat the whole thing without sharing.' Ace smiles, knowing that he is triumphant.

'Yes, sir, mister Ace, sir!' They share a laugh together, starting munching through the brunch.
