Craig was a normal person living in kalos, his life changed on his 14th birthday.

"Bye mom! I'm going to explore again!" Craig shouted. "Alright, be back for nun!" His mom, Nya, said. Timothy ran out of the house smiling. "What will I see today?" He thought.

He ran into a forest and found a small group of pokemon. "Hi there!" He said waving. The pokemon turned and smiled once they realized it was Craig. Craig ran to an marill and touched its head. It squeaked and Timothy laughed. He then ran to a marill and touched its pelt. It shook and Craig jumped feeling a small shock.

He ran up to a tree and knocked on it. A small pichu ran down from it and waved at Craig. "Hey there pichu!" Craig said. "Has anything happened while I was gone?" He asked. Pichu shook his hand and twirled it hands. "Awwww, you're so cute!" Craig said.

Suddenly there was a loud boom and pichu ran away. Craig ducked and covered his head when he heard a small cry. Craig instantly looked up and ran into the forest. "Alright, what made that boom." Craig thought. He ran and looked for the voice, but all he saw was a group of bewildered zangoose. Timothy waved and they waved back with thier large hands.

"Maybe I just imagined it." Craig said to them. They looked confused. "Did you hear the cry and boom?" He asked then. They shook thier head and Craig sighed. "I guess I did imagine it." Craig said. He picked up an oran berry and smiled, about to take a bite.

Suddenly Craig heard another cry from the left. The zangoose walked away. Craig ran to the left and found a small pokemon. It had diamond white fur and a red face. It had an adorable nose and had glowing purple eyes. It also had a horn around its head. It also had red claws, shocking Craig. It had a small trail of blood from its mouth and its fur was slighly covered in blood.

"Who did this to you!" Craig cried running up to it. The Pokemon jumped up and growled at him. Craig stepped back, hands up. He then remembered it had an oran berry. He held out the berry and the pokemon stopped growling. It walked up to Craig, nose twitching. Craig extended his hand and it jumped back growling. Craig then sighed and sat down. The Pokemon noticed and tilted its head. Timothy bowed his head and looked at the berry.

"Man, how can I make it my friend?" Craig said. "Absu?" The Pokemon went. Craig looked up and laughed. The Pokemon tilted its head. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself." Craig said. He extended the oran berry and the Pokemon walked up again. This time when Craig extended its hand the Pokemon let out a small growl. He instinctively stopped and the Pokemon are the berry.

Suddenly there was some rumbling in the bushes. The Pokemon jumped behind Craig and craig took a fighting stance. "I hope these karate lessons were worth it!" He thought. He had taken karate since he was 6, so he was no newbie. Two man came out and burst into laughter once they saw Craig.

"Who are you!" One man said. "Doesn't matter, just give us the Absol, and I'll let you leave unscarred." The other man said. "No." Craig said. "I'm Craig." He said. The men looked at each other and sighed.

"I'm John."

"Larry." They said.

"Look we want no trouble just give us the Absol!" John said. He pulled out a knife and Craig instantly took and defensive stance.

"Well, I won't let you." Craig said. The Absol looked at Craig with amazement.

"Wow this creature must be young, but it knows how to defend itself. Wait... Is it defending me?" The Absol thought.

"Well we warned him!" Larry said.

They lunged at Craig and he stepped back. Larry tried his scratch him with a knife. Craig dodged it and threw a fist at him. He earned a small hit, making Larry step back. John used the distraction to shove Craig back to te Absol. He grunted and the Absol looked at him with worry. Craig got up and shook himself. He dashed back at the men and Larry threw a knife at him. Craig dodged it and grabbed Larry's arm. Commands flashed through this hand and he bent the his arm around his back, twisting it.

Larry cried out in pain and fell to the ground. John then threw his own knife at him and it scratched Craig's cheek. Craig staggered back, felling blood pulse out of it. He staggered to the Absol and crunched in pain. Craig felt tears welling up in his eyes and shook. The Absol sniffed him and its eyes flashed. The Absol licked his face and Craig smiled.

Getting up, he took an offensive stance. John sneered and dashed it Craig. Craig sighed and ran to him. He slid under John and kicked up. He made contact and and John screamed in pain and fell. Craig quickly dashed to the Absol and it looked at him.

"We have to get out of here!" Craig said. The Absol tilted his head and Craig snapped. "Do you want to go with these guys! Let's go!" Craig yelled. The Absol jumped and then nodded, still shocked. Craig ran out of the forest, the Absol following him.

Once they got out Craig fell over, exhausted. "So, I'm going to head back, I hope I'll see you later." Craig said. He got up and walked to the town. The Absol tiltled its head and followed Craig.

When Craig arrived home Nya ran to him. "Oh my goodness!" Nya said. "What happened to you!" She shouted. "A pokemon was getting attacked by some men, and I helped it." Craig panted. "Did this pokemon happen to be a red Absol?" Nya asked.

"Yes actually, how did you know?" Craig asked, frowning. Nya was looking at something behind him and Craig did the same thing, gasping at what he saw.

"Absol! You... Followed me!" Craig exclaimed. The Absol nodded and looked up at Craig. "Looks like you made a friend." Nya said laughing. She stopped and frowned. "We'd better put ice on those cuts and clean you two up!" Nya said. "Absol?" The Absol said tilting its head.

They quickly cleaned up and got ice on thier wounds. Craig sat down on the couch and sighed, feeling numb from the ice. Nya sat next to him. "So can you explain how you "saved" the Absol?" She asked. The Absol looked up and jumped on the couch.

Sighing, Craig repeated what had happened. "Well, at least the karate lessons finally helped you." She joked. Craig moaned and touched the Absol by accident. The Absol grunted lightly. Craig looked surprised. "Hmm, looks like the Absol is nice to me now!" Craig said running the Absol's fur. It closed its eyes and sighed.

"Alright, and since tommorrow is your birthday, I'll let the Absol stay for the night." Nya said. "Really! Thank you!" Craig said. "But! On one condition." Nya said. "You and Absol are sharing the bed." Nya said. Craig moaned and the Absol looked up. He glanced at the Absol and sighed. "Alright."

"Hey, are you going to give it a name?" Nya asked. "I'll wait, I don't know if It is a boy or a girl." Craig said. "Ah, I see." Nya answered. "I'll visit sycamore tommorrow." Craig promised.

Craig walked to his room and Absol followed him. "Alright Absol, we will share the bed tonight." Craig said. "Absol?" Absol said. "Yes we S-H-A-R-E." Craig explained. "Ab Absol!" Absol said. "I have absolutely no idea what you are saying but alright!" Craig said. "Absuuuu..." Absol said tilting its head. Craig couldn't help but smile. Absol nodded and tried to do a smile, but it looked more like a clown trying to frown.

Craig burst out laughing and Absol sat down looking confused. Once he managed to control himself he sat on the bed. Then Craig layed down on the bed and tilted his head so he could see Absol. He patted the spot next to him and the Absol jumped on the bed, looking relieved. The Absol rested at the bottom of the bed. Craig pulled the covers over the Absol and closed his eyes, letting sleep take over him.

...

...

...

Craig woke up with a jolt. Craig sat up and took a deep breathe. He exhaled and suddenly a thought struck him. "It's my birthday!" He thought happily. The Absol grunted and sat up. "Ah! Mom a pokemo-" Craig cut himself off as he remembered what happened yesterday. The Absol tilted its head and walked in front of Craig. He smiled and touched the Absol's head.

It grunted and closed its eyes. Craig stopped and ran downstairs. "Nya! Where are you!" Craig yelled. When there was no response he walked to the kitchen and prepared some food. "Well, I guess I could wait a little." Craig thought. The Absol walked to a chair and jumped on it.

Craig jumped when he saw the Absol's eyes staring at him. "Woah!" Craig said. "When did you get there!" Craig thought. The Absol blinked twice the put a paw on the table. Suddenly there was a light ding.

"There's my toast!" Craig said getting up. He grabbed a plate and put four toast on it. He walked back to the table and took a bite. He glanced at the Absol and realized it was hungry. Sighing he got up and got another plate. He put two toast on it and slid it to Absol.

"Go ahead, eat it." Craig said. The Absol looked at it for a moment then took a hesitant bite. The second Absol bit into the toast it frantically are the other slices. It glanced at Craig was large eyes. Craig giggled and put another slice on Absol's plate. This time Absol carefully ate the toast.

Craig smiled as he bit into his toast. Nya then walked into the kitchen and smiled. "Looks like up early." She said. "Yea, I wouldn't miss my birthday!" Craig said. "Absol!" Absol said turning around. Nya jumped and then chuckled. "I see Absol is up to!" She said.

Suddenly her eyes lit up. "Speaking of pokemon, I had a word with professor sycamore yesterday." She said. Craig felt his heart beating faster. "And we talked and agreed that since you're 14, you can receive a pokèdex from him and a pokemon." Nya said. Craig jumped and shouted. "Hoorrrrayyy!"

Absol tilted its head and jumped to the floor. "Can I bring Absol? I never seen a red one before!" Craig said. "Sure, but you never seen a plain Absol before either." Nya said raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, I suppose, when do I pick it up?" Craig asked. "Anytime." Nya said. "But don't Rush!" She added as Craig ran to the door.

Craig stopped and sighed. "You need to get ready before you go to Sycamore's pokemon lab." Nya said. "Yea, I guess I got overexcited." Craig said scratching the back of his head. He quickly got dressed. He wore a bright blue t-shirt and black pants. He also put on a Demon's hat and a small white bag.

"Alright, I'm ready to go!" Craig said. He patted Absol on the back and it looked up at Craig. "Ready to go?" Craig said to Absol. The Absol tilted its head and then nodded. "I'll take that as a yes." Craig said putting his hands on his hips. The Absol yawned and they walked out of the house.

As they were walking Craig often talked to Absol. "So do you know why you are red?" He asked. Absol shook his head. "What about if you are a boy or girl?" He asked. Absol then nodded. "Really, are you a boy or a-" Craig cut himself off. "Hey look! We made it to the lab!" They had walked in front of a large building.

They walked in and a girl in a white lab suit walked to him. "Hi I'm Sonya, im an assistant here." She said. "Are you Craig?" She asked. Craig nodded. "I'm here to et a pokedex." Craig said. "And a pokemon right?" Sonya added. "Maybe." He said. "Maybe? What do you mean?" She asked. In response he moved and showed Absol.

"Wow, you found a shiny Absol!" She shouted. "Shiny?" Craig said. "Professor sycamore will explain, follow me." She walked into a room to the left. "So you're a shiny, what does that mean?" Craig asked Absol. Absol shrugged. "Alright then." Craig said walking into the room.

The first thing Craig saw was a massive Garchomp. "Woah!" Craig said jumping. "That is a massive garchomp!" He exclaimed. "Thanks!" A voice said from behind. A man in a white lab coat walked to Craig with a smile.

"I'm professor sycamore, I'm guessing you are Craig." He said. "Yes I am, and this is my Absol friend." Craig said. He gasped once he saw Absol. "Amazing! A shiny Absol." He said. "Can you explain what a shiny pokemon is?" Craig asked. "Sure, and you can learn about garchomp here too!" He said. "Awesome!" Craig said.

Sycmore led the group to a set of chairs. Craig sat down and Absol and garchomp followed. Absol sat near Craig's feet and garchomp stood next to Craig.

...

...

...

"So a shiny pokemon is a pokemon that is special, these have their own set of appearance and thier moves are stronger than normal pokemon." Sycamore explained. "Aw sweet! So does this Absol know any moves?" Craig asked. "Hmm, let me check!" Sycamore said. He got a small device and scanned Absol. "It knows no moves." The device beeped.

"Well, there you go." Sycamore said scratching his head. "Alright so how about th-"

Suddenly there was a large explosion. There was a massive shake and garchomp took an offensive battle stance. Craig noticed and he stood beside garchomp. Garchomp looked faintly surprised but did nothing to stop him. Once the smoke cleared a figure with a hood was standing at a hole in the wall.

"Hello professor, I'll be taking garchomp." A male voice said. "Who are you!" He yelled. The man snickered and took of his hood.

He had surprisingly blonde hair and sky blue eyes. Something about him triggered something in Craig's mind. "Garchomp, do you remember me?" He said. Garchomp thought and slowly nodded. "Woah, are you garchomp's trainer?" Craig asked. The man smiled and walked to Sycamore. "Yes I am, I finally found what I was looking for." He said.

"Ummmm can I ask what your name is?" Craig asked.

"Sure, my name is Edward, but please, call me Ansem."

"Alright, and you're Garchomp's trainer?" Craig asked.

"Yes, and who are you?" Ansem asked. "Oh, I'm Craig, and this is Absol." Craig said showing Absol. He looked surprised. "Wow the world's only shiny Absol." He said. He then turned to garchomp. "Did you miss me?" He asked garchomp. The Garchom nodded furiously. "I'm glad, now, is that your Absol?" He asked Craig.

"No." Craig said. The Absol looked that him. "Then... Who's Absol is it?" Ansem asked confused. "No ones I guess." Craig said. He sat next to Absol. "Right?" He asked Absol. Absol shook its head. "Really? Who's your trainer?" Craig asked. The Absol stared at Craig.

"I'm your trainer?" Craig asked surprised. The Absol nodded and put its head down. "But I don't even have a pokeball for you." Craig said disappointed. Ansem cleared his throat. Sycamore and Craig looked at him.

"Here... Use this." Ansem said hurling something at Craig. Craig caught it and looked at it. It was a small pokeball with a pink design on it. "A heal ball?" Sycamore said confused. "Yes, use it to catch Absol, you obviously have potential, Absol is just the start." Ansem said.

But when Craig looked around, he was gone. The Absol looked at the pokeball and touched it with a paw. It was sucked inside with a flash of pink.

It shook once.

It shook twice.

It shook three times.

And it sparkles indicating a successful catch. Craig smiled as he lifted the pokeball in the air. "Alright! I caught an Absol!" He shouted. Sycamore smiled and walked to him. "Congratulations, you caught the first shiny Absol I've seen." Sycamore said. "Here you go, this is a pokèdex, this will help you understand pokemon on a higher level." Sycamore said giving Craig a pokèdex.

"Thanks you." Craig said taking it. "Come on out Absol!" He shouted. As Absol appeared Craig put on a big smile.

Pulling the pokèdex to Absol it flashed and words spread through the screen.

Absol- The Disaster Pokemon- When disaster appears Absol senses it in its horn, coming down from the mountain to warn the people.

Moves know- none.

Gender- Female.

"A female?" Craig said lightly. "Are you going to give it a nickname?" Sycamore asked. "Yes, I'll name you... Crescent." Craig said. Crescent looked up and smiled. "I guess she likes it!" Craig said.

"I think you should head back now, it's getting dark." Sycamore said. "No way!" Craig shouted, but when he looked outside a moon was shining over a black sky.

"Aww man, we should head back before midnight, I heard bad things happen after the twelfth hour." Craig said. "Alright Crescent, let's get back." Crescent got up and yawned.

As they walked along the path a cold breeze wrapped around Craig. "Brrrrrd!" He chartered holding himself. Closing his eyes he thought of a fire and how warm it was. He opened his eyes and found out he had wandered into a forest. "Ugh!" Craig said running into a tree. Crescent looked at him with worry. "No, I'm alright, we shou-"

Suddenly a group of beedrill came out from bushes behind him. "Run!" Craig yelled. But due to Craig's sense of direction he got Crescent and himself cornered. The beedrill advanced on them. Craig took an offensive stance and the beedrill noticed.

Thier stingers turned purple and Craig flinched as he recognized poison jab. Suddenly there were poison jabs thrown at them. Crescent dodged the attacks as well as Craig. But they eventually got tired and a large beedrill approached. It had murderous red eyes and an obviously angry expression.

In charged a X at Crescent and Craig recognized X-Scissor. As the attack got closer Crescent closed her eyes. But just before the attack made contact Craig jumped in front of Crescent. Crescent's eyes widened as Craig was thrown back. He slammed into a tree and Crescent looked at him in concern. His hat was thrown off.

"Agh!" He shouted as he slumped. He looked up and saw the beedrill charging another X-Scissor. "Well, I guess it ends." Craig said. Crescent saw tears welling up in his eyes and Crescent felt anger welling up inside her. She turned and faced the beedrill feeling power well up in her horn.

Craig looked up and saw Crescent's horn glowing. Crescent swung her head as she jumped and a massive wind was launched. The beedrill instantly scattered leaving Craig amazed. Crescent walked up to Craig with his hat in her mouth. Craig took it and put it on his head. He smiled and said. "Thank you. Hey! You learned razor wind!" Craig said happily. Crescent nodded and Craig got up.

They walked home were Nya was waiting with a frown. "Where have you been! Don't you know it's 1:00 in the morning!" She shouted. "I'm sorry, we were attacked by a swarm of beedrill." Craig said. "Oh, and Absol learned a new move huh?" She shouted. "Yes actually." Craig said. "Tell me what happened, and no lying!" Nya said.

They settled in side and Craig sat on the couch. Crescent jumped on the couch and sat next to him. "So explain." Nya said crossing her arms.

Sighing Craig repeated what had happened. "Woah, so you jumped in front of Crescent and took an X-Scissor for her?" Nya exclaimed. "And Crescent learned razor wind?" "Yeah, bug types are super effective on her and she was already tired." Craig said putting an arm around Crescent. "And I guess that's how she learned a new move."

"I guess you're tired, you should get some sleep." Nya said. "You can get on the road tommorrow." She said. Craig nodded and Crescent looked up. Craig got up and walked to his bedroom, Crescent following him.

Craig got in bed and Crescent sat at the door of the bed. "Good night." Craig said. Crescent walked in front of him and tilted her head. "Aww, you're so cute." Craig said. He stroked Crescents head and it made a sound in her throat. Craig smiled and sat up. Crescent layed down on the foot of the bed and soft breathing soon came from her direction.

"Guess that's it for tonight!" Craig said. "And I get to go on my journey tommorrow!" He said smiling.

"And I couldn't ask for a better partner."
