Hey, I don't own Degrassi or anything, but I do own this story, and Daniel. :) Based off the song Someone Like You by Adele.

Prologue

Clare's POV

Before it happened, I was driving the road, windows open, enjoying the night air. The car radio played faintly behind my thoughts. What was I thinking of? Ha, more like who.

Daniel. Okay, I know what you're thinking. Daniel, what a bland name; must be a boring guy. Well, he's no action-movie-James-Bond-type, but he's interesting enough to me. He's my co-worker at the local Borders. I guess since we have similar interests, we just clicked.

In fact, I was just returning from a dinner-date with him, when it happened. A song interrupted my thoughts of Dan, Adele's Someone Like You. Since it was late night, and I was all alone on the street, I turned it all the way up and began almost yelling the lyrics.

"I heard that you're settled down; that you found a girl, and you're married now.
I heard that your dreams came true. Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you."

I reached a stop sign but kept driving and continued to sing loudly, closing my eyes, getting into the music. As I sang, memories of my high school life came flooding back. I remembered all my past friends and Eli. I wondered how he was, if he still thought of me like I thought of him, if he settled down. If only I had kept my eyes open while I reminisced, it could've been avoided.

BAM! Suddenly, the passenger side of my car was hit, not hard, but enough to cause a giant dent. Angrily, I stopped my car and walked out to meet the person in the other car. The car was sleek and black…and….a hearse. No. no. no. It can't be…..

But as expected, a man also clad sleekly in black approached me from the car's driver side.

His eyes were wide, but he managed a smirk as he spoke to me.

"Hello, Clare. Well, it sure has been awhile."

As he spoke, my radio played loudly, speaking what was on my mind:

"Sometimes it lasts in love,
but sometimes it hurts instead

Alrighty, short? Yes. But it's just the prologue. Worth it to continue? That's up to you guys. Review, please :)
