Chapter 1
She was sitting in a pool of warm water, and her maid was washing her beautiful violet hair. She closed her eyes and thought of all the things she had to do. She opened her eyes again, and sat up. Everything around her looked so familiar. As if she had lived here for a many of year. She slowly stood, waiting for the maid to give her a bath towel. She patted herself dry, and walked over to the bed, and put on her nightgown. She looked down and felt the fabric. It was see through, and extremely soft. During this time of the year it was very warm weather, so she wore things that made her comfortable. She laid down on the bed, taking a vase that stood next to her bed. She stuck her hand inside, and slowly brought it out, making sure she did not disturb the serpent inside. When her hand came out she was holding a cobra, and it wound itself around her arm. She held the head in her hand, with her other hand she reached over and started stroking the serpent, and whispering things in a language that seemed so familiar to her. So comfortable. She continued to say sweet nothings to the pet, and when she was about to put her precious pet away, she heard a commotion outside her chamber. She rose slowly to her feet, and told the maid to run. "They have come for me. Take the necklace and saber now, run! I will fend them off! Do not tell anyone where it is! Bring it to the place where I told you. Hurry! Before they catch you!" She gave her maid a shove in the other direction, and stood between the maid and the guards that were about to come running in. She stroked her serpent again, and whispering little things in its ear, she arranged the snake so it would be easier for it to attack. The door was barricaded, but they would soon break in. The snake tensed, but did nothing but stare at the door with squinty eyes, preparing for attack, sensing danger. The door opened with a bang, A General and another soldier came in, preparing to kill her. "What took you so long?" And then she released the snake.
Faye woke up from the dream with a start. She didn't realize where she was, she was still in the Egyptian time. Now, she didn't remember anything about Egyptians, because that was a ton of centuries ago. But she couldn't help feeling the adrenaline rushing through her, as if she were really about to be attacked. That was the strangest dream I have ever had. Faye felt like she had to do something, so she got up and walked out of her room. She was going to practice her fighting. I might as well get this excitement out of me. Then for the rest of the day she forgot about her dream. Until that night.
