Their first (but not official) date was on the roof of the Iris cabin.
They weren't supposed to be out that late, but since when did he listen to rules, and she just wanted to escape her cabin for a while.
It was 6 in the morning, and Lacy couldn't sleep.
She was scared for Piper. Her new sister (and her first friend) had just left on her quest. Lacy was worried.
Drew had been making life a living hell for everyone. Her temper was even shorter and she took it out on Lacy and Mitchell.
At least she didn't have to wear the shoes. Ugh.
So she stayed in bed for a few minutes, hoping Drew was asleep so she could get up.
She quietly got out of bed, not bothering to make it. Maybe, since Drew was asleep, she could act like a slob now. She really wasn't a slob, but if it meant disrupting Drew's regime, if only when she was asleep, Lacy would do it. She slipped on her fluffy pink slippers and headed out.
The air was crisp but not cold. The sky was just starting to lighten. Dew covered the ground, making her fluffy slippers wet. Lacy inhaled deeply, wondering if Piper could breathe the air too. It smelled faintly of strawberries.
"Hey."
Lacy whipped her head toward the sound. Butch was on the top of the Iris cabin, facing the east.
He watched her for a few moments. She was frozen like a deer in headlights.
"Um...Lacy, was it?" He asked. He sounded uncomfortable.
"Yeah." Lacy said softly.
"Whatcha doing?" Butch leaned over to look at her. He looked uncomfortable too.
It was as if being around people made him nervous.
"Couldn't sleep. I was going to take a walk." She answered. "You?"
"I always come out to see the sunrise." Butch said like it was common knowledge.
"Oh." She was truly surprised. Butch was so...mean, it hardly seemed like he could do something as ordinary as watch a sunrise. Guess she didn't know as much about people as she thought she did.
"Yeah."
They stayed silent for a few seconds. She cocked her head toward him, and he continued to stare at the horizon. He seemed to be thinking about something.
"You wanna watch?"
"What?" Lacy stared in outright shock and Butch turned a shade of red reminiscent of a tomato.
"D'you wanna watch?" He repeated awkwardly.
"Oh. Sure." Lacy climbed up to sit next to him innocently.
His face remained red throughout the entire sunrise. Lacy's eyes remained fixed on the colors, not noticing his embarrassment.
Butch leaned away from her awkwardly. Being around people made him edgy, mostly because of the weird stares he got when he was in public. At least at camp, almost everyone was a freak, he thought.
The sun rose slowly, blinding them with the bright rays.
"Thanks." Lacy said, and on impulse, she hugged him.
Butch almost choked in shock. His face felt like it was on fire.
"Uh, for what?" He finally managed.
"For distracting me." She grinned, again not noticing his red face. "Bye!"
Lacy danced off with her usual blond pigtails waving.
"Um...yeah. No problem." Butch stared at her until she left and continued to stare at the door until the conch shell was blown for breakfast.
She didn't look back once. He wished she had.
Disclaimer-I don't own and never will. It makes me sad :(
Okay, this is a ship I made up. What's really weird is that Lacy isn't on the character list.
Also, for anyone who reads my other stories (which I strongly suggest you do, hint hint) there will be slow updates because of school and the limited time I get on my family computer. Plus, I'm writing like 4 stories right now, so please remember that and be patient because I'm trying to make them good :)
Review and tell me what you thought of this ship. I personally think it's adorable, but I'm weird.
