Chapter 1
Drovers Back Road...
"Damn it Claire I forgot the corn chips."
"Well lucky I forgot the salsa too." giggled Claire.
"We can't have a party without corn chips! Come on, turn around, it won't take long." Tess argued.
"Ok, hang on a sec."
Drovers...
"Nick did you find the ring?"
Nick tosses Alex a small box and exclaims, "It was out near the shed, you have to be bloody careful Alex."
"Yeah yeah nice work, do you think she will say yes?"
"I hope so, good luck. How are you going to pop the question?"
"Thanks mate. I better get everything ready they will be back soon." Alex says as he runs towards the house.
Nick shakes his head.
Claire's Bedroom...
Alex walks in to Claire's room taking in her scent. He places the ring box on her pillow so she will see it. Taking a step back he sees a photo of him, Claire and Charlotte in Melbourne on her dresser and he remembers the great time they had together. Alex opens the box to reveal a beautiful engagement ring.
He can't wait to see Claire's face.
Back Road to Drovers...again...
"The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round, the wheels on the bus go round and round on a sunny day..."
Charlotte cries louder.
"I don't think she likes our singing Claire." Tess laughs.
"Oh Claire watch out for those potholes!"
"Tess I think I know what I'm doing."
"Yeah I know.. I just got a bit worried."
"Well stop worrying, we'll be fine."
Drovers...
"I wonder where they have got to they should be here by now." Meg worries.
*Ute horn beeps*
"They're here!"
Claire gets Charlotte out from her capsule, "Sorry we're late we forgot the corn chips."
"It's alright," Meg says, "All the food is ready and everyone's here."
"Great, first I need to get Bom changed then we'll come down."
Claire's Bedroom...
"Alright Bom better get you changed then it's party time."
She looks up at the diamond ring sitting on her pillow and her blue eyes fill up with happy tears.
She rushes downstairs to find Alex and tell him her answer.
