I was still squealing.
Everyone apart from Rosalie had crowded around to hear what I had to say about the future, and Emmett was getting impatient with my girly moment.
"Hurry up and tell us, Alice. What's happening?" Emmett was unusually grumpy because Jasper had taken the only bear in the area and he was left with deer.
I formed a plan of how to tell them in less than a second, almost squealing again at the expression Esme's face was about to have on it.
I quickly got up from the ground and took Jasper's hand. I spun him around so that we were in the exact position that Bella and Edward were assuming at this very moment, quickly checking to see if Edward would mind me revealing this secret. I saw his annoyed expression, but he wouldn't break anything. Important. That was good enough for me.
I knelt on one knee, still holding Jasper's hand as the others watched with apprehension.
"Isabella Swan," I said, imitating Edward's voice to perfection, while looking up at Jasper's face with loving eyes. I heard Rosalie grumble a hundred meters away. "I promise to love you forever – every single day of forever. Will you marry me?" I could almost hear him saying the words to Bella at the exact same moment back at our house.
Esme gasped.
Jasper looked down at me, doing a hilarious imitation of what he imagined Bella's face would look like. He knew his line purely from the happiness radiating out of me, better than if I had told him what to say. "Yes," he said, imitating Bella's whisper.
I slid an imaginary ring onto his finger and said "Thank you," in Edward's voice, before getting up and turning to the others reverting to my usual tone.
"They're engaged!" I squealed.
Esme joined in and we started another girly moment, much to Emmett's disgust.
