Tails! Where was he?!
Sonic whirled around to see his best buddy lying down in the dirt. He loooked hurt! The finish line was right in front of Sonic, but he didn't care about winning anymore.
Sonic rushed back down the racing track and approached Tails cautiously.
"Tails?" he nudged Tails.
"Uh...? Tails slowly looked up. "Sonic! The race!" Tails was clearly injured, "You have to go win the race!"
"Are you ok, buddy?" Sonic asked, helping Tails to his feet.
"Yeah, I'm alright! Thanks Sonic!" Tails and Sonic ran back onto the racing track. They tied for last place.
When the race was over, Cosmo walked up to Tails.
"Tails! Are you alright!?" Cosmo was just as concerned as Sonic had been.
"Y-yeah. But Sonic helped me!" Tails replied.
"Well, that's what friends are for, right?" Sonic asked.
"Right!" came Tails' reply.
