Stein was extremely happy. After months of being busy he was finally getting some alone time with Spirit.
Contrary to popular belief, Stein did have feelings, and although he didn't look like it, he secretely loved to snuggle. They were currently sitting on the couch in SPirit's office at Shibunsen and Stein, despite being the larger of the two, was settled happily in Spirit's lap, face resting against the redhead's chest. Spirit smiled, leaning down to plant a kiss on the top of Stein's head. Stein made a pleased mewling sound of sorts and Spirit chuckled at his somewhat childish behavior. "Having fun?" Stein looked up at his former weapon with a satisfied face. "Lots'" he replied, grinning. "I love you senpai" he whispered before sliding back down in Spirit's arms. "I love you too" Spirit replied, tightening his grip around the doctor's thin frame. "Promise?" Stein said with a hint of uncertainty. Spirit took Stein's head in his hands and looked into his eyes. Blue met green. "I promise." he whispered, before pulling Stein close again. "Senpai?" he said softly, "Why do you love me?" Spirit smiled and began petting his former meister's hair. "I love you because you're you. You're everything I could ever want from anyone. You make me happy." Stein sighed, happily reassured, and rested his head on Spirit's shoulder. "And why do you love me?" Spirit asked. "I love you for loving me when no one else would, loving me despite the fact that I cut you open for half of the time I knew you." Spirit smiled and ruffled Stein's hair. "You don't still do that do you?"
The stitched man grinned, making Spirit a bit uncomfortable. "...Stein...?" Stein remained silent, still grinning. "Come on... you said you didn't do that anymore!" "I had a relapse." Spirit sighed, contemplating the situation. "Okay... as long as I don't notice and you don't remove anything important... you can do whatever." Stein's eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Happy Valentine's day." Stein smiled a genuine smile before giving Spirit a soft kiss on the cheek. Spirit smiled "I love you so much, don't ever change." Stein grinned. "I don't plan too."
