Note.

Note that, he'd dreamed about her.

Note, as she took a break from fighting and stepped out of the sauna dripping with sweat, she thought of him.

Note that, he thought he wasn't worthy for her.

Note, she'd thought she wasn't worthy for him.

Note that, when he looked up from his calligraphy and his gaze rested onto his poems, his stories, his works of art- he'd known that they were all dedicated to her.

Note, she was proud of him.

Note that, he'd always thought she had recommended him to go for the tryouts, to get that one little red flag at the end of the room, because of pity for his plight.

Note, she'd always harbored resentment for the woman that had sent him there.

Note that, when she had come to the Jade Palace for the first time, and had greeted the Dragon Warrior, Po had grinned that silly little goofy smile that had practically become his trademark at her and she had smiled. Note that, he had snapped at Po for the next few days, and had even criticized his (flawless) cooking. Note that, when she had come to his room to demand what was wrong with him- "Why, Crane? Why do you attack an innocent panda for no reason at all?" (Nevermind that the 'innocent panda' was actually the Dragon Warrior, of course- but she had a point)- he had been instantly contrite. He'd regretted it, but still… after that

Note, when she had asked Crane to come with her on a round trip to Beijing to see the emperor, she hadn't missed the sparkle that meant more than the world to her in his eyes.

Note, when she had told him she loved him on top of the panes of a royal house while watching the fireworks around them wishing a happy new year, he had kissed her.

Note, she would never forget that kiss.

Note that, the world had been a blur for Crane when Mei had told him she loved him, and that had only ended with their wedding… and their honeymoon… and the next year together…

Note, as he twisted beneath her as they made love, she planting hot, urgent kisses on his beak, his quiet gasping, she knew they would be together for the rest of their lives.

Note that… she loved him.

Note… he loved her.

note that,

note.

Fate can be a fickle thing… but Crane and Mei were destined to be together. Ah, young love…

I do not own Kung Fu Panda or Kung Fu Panda 2. All credit for this awesome!ness goes to Dreamworks.

Another idea that popped up while I was under the shower. The creative properties of the sauna never cease to amaze.
