Et Universum
.o
Before time began, before words were spoken, before atoms and before matter, there was awareness. A cosmic consciousness swirling in a space so small a subatomic particle rivaled the known universe today.
One awareness became conscious of another awareness, but it was no surprise to either. They were always one, and for a while that was enough. Together, they dreamed constantly of things yet unnamed--until one awareness began to consider more and more complex ideas.
The first emotion was born:
Desire
.Deeper ideas were exchanged, one awareness drawing away while the other pushed forward for answers it could not find. It wanted something beyond the scope of its simplicity, but didn't know what. And so it continued pressing its other half when it saw it had power over it.
The other half was content with existing as it was...and for a long while it ignored the insistence.
And then the first sensation was born:
Pain
.The first entity knew this feeling controlled its other half, and began using it whenever it couldn't find answers. Finally the other being grew tired of the pain and sent it back tenfold, smothering the controlling consciousness until its onslaughts ceased.
For awhile, their existence returned to silence and dreams. But the desiring entity saw possibilities in those dreams. No feeling existed for such imagery...another means to describe it became prudent.
The first word was born:
More
.This drew the peaceful awareness even further from its hungry other half, but the entity wanting more launched itself forward, intent on consuming and silencing what it saw as oppression. They swirled about in pain as they battled for dominance, and the cosmic womb in which they existed expanded, bigger and bigger, faster and faster, until it could no longer contain their thoughts and feelings.
It broke, and as it did the things they'd dreamed became reality.
The peaceful entity knew its counterpart would harm this new existence, and so as their world forever changed, it reached out and stole a piece of its brother, replacing it with part of a dream.
Then the chaos of their birth separated them forever into the Light and Dark, and they were flung far apart to begin their new existences alone.
And the universe was born thus.
