FOREWORD

So, my first Fate/Apocrypha crossover, Love and War, was a controversial one for a number of reasons, many of them revolving around my decision to make it a bashing fic. I wanted to do another Fate/Apocrypha story, preferably a Potterverse crossover, and was on the verge of giving up after so many attempts, until I had, as often the case, a fit of inspiration. In fact, in light of the pairing, calling it something akin to a lightning bolt is not inappropriate.

The original version of the story that became Love and War, Dum Vivimus, Vivamus, had Harry summoning Berserker of Black, aka Frankenstein's Monster, as his Servant, a Servant who would eventually become his pairing. It was shortly before I was about to publish it that I realised, it wasn't quite working. I decided to have him use Tamamo as a Caster instead, and that version of the story, Love and War, worked out better.

However, the notion never went away of pairing Harry with Berserker of Black, whom I have dubbed Eve ever since my Fate/Zero crossover Gorgon and Thanatos, due to the original novel having the Monster lament to Frankenstein "I ought to be thy Adam". Eve gets such a raw deal in the original series, which is a shame for the most adorable and likeable take on the Frankenstein myth (and certainly the best I have seen since Shuler Hensley's hammy but sympathetic version in Van Helsing), so giving her a chance to shine was something I wanted to do. This is what has resulted. I hope you enjoy.

Anyway, time for the usual disclaimers. Firstly, there will be spoilers for both Harry Potter and Fate/Apocrypha.

Secondly, there will be heavy annotations, as is usual for my works. You have been warned.

Thirdly, this is an M-Rated work. There will be coarse language, violence, and sexual references. Again, you have been warned.

Finally, the following is a fan-written work. Harry Potter and Fate/Apocrypha are the properties of their respective owners. Please support the official release. Otherwise, Eve will pound you into a pulp with her warhammer…
