Disclaimer: I don't own any of this, and would never say that I did. Sue if you like, but seeing as how I have nothing but bills, good luck.

A/N This is the first fan fiction I've ever allowed anyone else to read. For the record, I know I'm not a very good writer (my university transcript says it all), but I do enjoy it. Reviews welcome, even the bad. Hope it's enjoyable, if not, thankfully it's short.

Logan grabbed Max's arm as she tried to go past him. "I will not let you run away from me this time. Everytime we get close, everytime you start to show me how you really feel, you turn away from me. I will not let you do it this time. We are going to face this, now."

"Logan, I love you."

The pair stared at each other in silence for a moment, Logan's grip slowly relaxing on Max's arm. He was stunned by what she had just said to him. For over a year they had danced around each other, teasing with words, occassionally actions, but never had she said those four words that suddenly pulled at his heart.

"I said, I love you. If I stay, I'm going to end up hurting you. That's why I run."

Max had never been one to express her emotions. Emotions were bad, they were weak, and no matter how much she had wanted to tell Logan how she felt, she just couldn't.

"I've spent so many nights in this apartment, wanting nothing more than for you to hold me. I wanted to know that everything would be ok, if you could just let me in. Well, we kept each other out, and now, it's time for me to go."

A tear slid down Max's cheek, matching the one in Logan's eye. The stayed where they were, staring at each other for what seemed like hours. It was Logan that broke the connection. He pushed his chair so that he was directly in front of her, his knees almost brushing against her.

"If you go, I'm coming with you. There is no way that I'm going to let you go. Max, I've loved you since you first broke in here. If things had been different, if I had listened to you about helping Lauren and Sophie....." Logan's words trailed off, "Please, don't leave me. Not now, not ever. I'll run with you wherever you have to go. You asked me once to go with you, you know now why I couldn't, it wasn't that I didn't want to, I did. If the offer still stands, we'll go where we have to go, wherever, whenever. None of it matters to me, as long as I'm with you."

Max looked down at Logan, seeing the wonderful man sitting in front of her. She knew in her heart that he would do anything for her, and that she would do what he wanted. She couldn't keep running away, especially not now that their walls had crumbled.

"I'll stay," and that was all she said.
