Chapter 1

Many years ago a prophecy was unleashed. A prophecy that told of great power and riches to the one whom it was fulfilled by. This prophecy was held secret from many. In fact, there were only two who knew of it; the God of the Sea, and the God of the Sky. The prophecy was made for each of the Big Three, but Hades was left unaware. The two Gods were fuming. Fighting with one another, trying to contrive different stratagem to bring the other to their demise.

A crash of thunder could be heard in the distance. The sun was just starting to set, but the birds were still singing and people were still out of their houses; the natural order of things was unperturbed by the onslaught of events that were about to occur. "Christian!" The middle-aged woman called out to her son, "Come inside! Dinner is almost ready!" She motioned for him to come inside while trying to balance a bowl filled to the brim with some unknown substance.

"I'm coming Mom!" he glanced out at the ocean one last time before turning to head into their old, one-story house. Christian walked inside to the kitchen, washed his hands, then sat down at the table. Dinner passed without any form of controversy, and Christian headed off to bed wishing his mother goodnight. As soon as he got into his room he shut the door behind him and locked it. He walked over to his window unlatched it and pushed it open. The breeze blew back his hair and he took a deep breath; reveling in the feel of the sweet sea breeze on his skin.

He pushed himself up and swung his legs over the lip of the window, grunting with exertion. Christian wasn't the most athletic person, but one would think with all the times he has done this it would have gotten easier. He hopped out of his window and landed in the sand with a barely audible thud. He walked towards the ocean and stood, letting the waves splash against his toes. He stayed there for what felt like hours, gazing off across the water. He looked down at his feet and noticed the water starting to ebb away slowly. He walked forward curious, and minutely amazed. He could see everything. He let out a slow breath of awe and kept walking forward, gazing at all of the creatures that were usually blanketed beneath the murky waters.

The tides continued to recede and soon he could hear a low rumbling noise. Still unaware of what was happening, he stood in the same spot and watched as a wave started to form. It was small at first, but it steadily got bigger and soon the wave was towering over him. Now, finally alarmed, the boy started running for his house, but it was too late. The wave crashed over him. Unleashing thousands of pounds of water on top of him. The water crushed him, and forced him to the ground. The unrelenting power of the ocean tossed him around like a rag doll and he was quickly losing consciousness. A few more seconds and he was floating in the dark abyss of his unconscious mind.
