Chapter 1:
"Too old, Too poor, Too dangerous." Remus Lupin repeated this like a mantra. Nymphadora Tonks and himself went for a walk around the lake the day after Dumbledores death.
" I don't care, I don't care, I don't care" Said Nymphadora Tonks.
" You deserve someone …" Tonks cut him off.
"Someone young and whole" she finished. "I don't want someone young and whole, I want you.
"NO" shouted Lupin. " I've already explained this to you. WE CAN'T."
"WHY NOT?" she was yelling now. "MERLIN, WHY ARE YOU SO FREAKIN' STUBORN.I WANT YOU!"
"Nymphadora, You'll wake the children. We are still at Hogwarts." Remus said.
"Why don't you reason with me?" she asked.
"I've already told you why." Was his reply.
"Fine, I'll end all this if you tell me you don't love me" she said.
"I…I can't. You know I love you."
Tonks replied, tears running down her face, "You are killing me, Remus. I can't even morph."
"Please, just understand were I'm coming from Nymphadora." He said.
She looked at him, sobbing. He went to grab her, and then she went pale and collapsed.
