A/N: Romanian translations will be at the bottom author's note. Also, the only reason that Dick is speaking Romanian and not Romany is because I just couldn't find a translator to Romany. Please bare with me!
He knew his parents were going to die someday. But never did he think they would die like this.
He watched as his parents, seemingly in slow motion, fell to their deaths. He reached for them.
"Tati! Mami! Nu mă lăsa!"
He almost had her hands! He almost grabbed her!
"Dick!" he heard his mother scream. He reached down a little farther, but to no avail.
Dick. His mother's last word was his name. He watched as their bodies hit the ground with a splat, their blood spraying around them.
"No! No! NO!"
"Dick, Richard! Wake up! It's only a dream!"
The boy slowly opened his eyes to find his adoptive father, Bruce Wayne, shaking him awake. His big blue eyes stared up at Bruce's deep brown ones.
He started to cry and shake uncontrollably. Bruce just held him tight, whispering words of comfort to the little bird.
"Ei m-au lăsat. Sunt singur," Dick gasped.
That surprised Bruce. Every time Dick had nightmares, he usually sobbed himself to sleep in Bruce's arms without uttering a word.
What surprised him even more, however, was his choice of words. He never knew Dick felt anything like that.
"Tu nu eşti singur pasărea mea. Tu-mi, îţi aminteşti? Eu voi fi mereu aici pentru tine. Nu uitati ca," he told his son.
Dick stopped shaking, though he still cried into Bruce's shirt. Bruce remembered the first few anniversaries of his parent's deaths too. Each time, he had woken up from a nightmare in the middle of the night and ran to find Alfred, who comforted him just like he was currently doing so for Dick.
"Te iubesc, Tati."
That surprised Bruce even more than the last comment did. He smiled and looked down to his ward, who looked back up at him with loving and hopeful eyes. Oh how Bruce loved those eyes. With their deep blue color, they seemed to be staring right into his soul and conveying Dick's innocence all at once.
"Eu te iubesc, fiul meu."
Wow. Cliché ending much? But it's my first fanfic so be nice! Constructive criticism is good though, very good…
OOOHHHH! I bet you want the translations now huh?
"Daddy! Mommy! Don't leave me!
"They left me. I'm all alone."
"You are not alone my little bird. You have me, remember? I will always be here for you. Never forget that."
"I love you, Daddy."
"I love you too, my son."
