Title: Waiting
Game
Author: SlayersGrl
Summary: For those left behind, there
is nothing to do but wait.
Disclaimer: Doctor
Who and all its wonderful characters belong to people far richer
than me.
Author's note: This is my first Doctor Who fic which was written in the span of about 10 minutes. So I apologize for the rather ambiguous nature, but the idea struck me and I had to write it down.
It was a day like any other. As usual, I kept busy with my ordinary terrestrial life while waiting for one wayward girl to make an appearance. Even if it would only be for a brief moment and then she would disappear into thin air once again.
I had come to realize that I no longer hated the Doctor for what he had done. He had forced this waiting game upon me by asking my Rose to join him. She left me behind to join some stranger on a grand adventure through space and time. Knowing Rose, I understand why she said yes. But that selfish part of me screams that she should have stayed. For me. No, I don't think I'll ever forgive him, but as long as she chooses to travel with him I'll continue to wait. For all eternity, however long that may be.
The now familiar noises of the TARDIS's arrival were like a beacon. I arrived in front of the blue box just as it completely materialized. But it was not her who rushed out to greet me. It was him.
The polite greeting never left my lips. One look at his face and I knew.
I didn't even need to hear the whispered apology. I didn't want to hear the details of their last grand misadventure. All I could comprehend at that moment was that it was all over. There would be no more waiting.
