Yahiko huffed where he lay on his back inside the hut, growing tired of the rain constantly hammering on the roof. He glanced over at Konan who was sitting in a corner, surrounded by little animals and other stuff she'd made out of different colored paper. At least she had some way of entertaining herself. Yahiko sighed and tilted his head back and saw an upside-down Nagato sitting outside on the porch, completely still and with his head bowed. He had been doing that a lot since Jiraya-sensei left. Yahiko rolled over onto his stomach before getting up and walking up to the red haired boy, sitting down beside him.

"Hey Nagato, what's up?" he asked in his usual cheery voice. Nagato gave no reply. "Apparently not your mood," Yahiko joked and nudged his friend with his elbow. When he still didn't get any reaction, his smile changed to a concerned face. "Hey, what is it?" he asked in a soft voice. At first it didn't seem like Nagato was going to answer, but then he spoke in a low voice. "My eyes."

Yahiko looked at him, confused. "What about your eyes?" Nagato bowed his head even lower. "You know that very well."

Yahiko sighed. "So that's all this is about? Seriously, you had me worried there, I thought something happened." He placed a hand on Nagato's shoulder and shook it a little, making Nagato lift his head a little and glance at the orange head. "Hey listen, I don't care that you have the most powerful and feared weapon of all times, the only thing that matters is how you use it. Besides..." He paused and brushed away the long, deep red bangs covering his friend's eyes. "... I think they're pretty."

An amused snort escaped the red head, and when he saw the disgruntled look on Yahiko's face, he started laughing. "Really Yahiko, pretty? You're the worst at choosing words."

"What? They are." Yahiko defended himself, before suddenly looking smug. "And I made you laugh didn't I?"

Nagato rolled his eyes and jokingly elbowed the now laughing orange head in the side. "Yeah yeah, enjoy it while you can."

They both laughed, and Nagato thought that as long as he had Yahiko, he knew he wouldn't have any sad thoughts regarding his eyes.
