Nearing the end of the school year, Shizuo's temper was at an all time high with the stress of finals, not to mention that stupid Orihara kid constantly messing with his head.
On this particular Friday, Shizuo found himself holding some guy by the collar of his shirt, surely rationlized by the blond for being called a 'monster'.
"Say that to my face." He hissed through his teeth, his eyes bloodshot from countless numbers of late night studying and brooding; making him that much more menacing. The smaller boy shook with fear, pathetic whimpers the only thing that escapes his lips.
"Well?" Shizuo asked impatiently.
"Come on, Shizu-chan." He heard a familiar voice call from a couple feet away. The blond didn't have to look to know there was a shitty grin plastered on it's owner's even shittier face. "You can't be so mean to a man who speaks his mind. I thought that was one of the rules you live by. Or were you lying." Izaya purred, his hands stuffed in his pockets as his head tilted. He dropped the man, who quickly scurried away.
To most of the bystanders, this comment wouldn't seem as derogatory as Shizuo saw it. There was nothing that irked him more than the sound of Orihara's voice.
"Listen here prick." The blond turned around, his teeth gritted. He was going to talk about how Izaya's mother never loved him or how he was the real 'monster' here but, he decided against it. He didn't go through years of anger management to beat up one man who got on his nerves.
Against his own wishes, which were to tear this guy to shreds, he walked out of the cafeteria.

Author's Note: This was just a small chapter to get me used to writing the two contrasting personalities of Shizuo and Izaya. I swear my next chapter will be getting to the point.
Thank You! 3
