Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter!
A/N: this is my first ever fanfiction. It's inspired by the notebook (the movie) but is still original (I hope)
It was the day of Fred Weasley's funeral. It was pouring outside, as mother nature seemed to agree with the mood of the day. Family members and ministry employees filled in the rows of seats on the grounds of the burrow.
"Ginvera dear, I am so sorry for your loss" said Auntie Muriel, not sounding sorry at all.
"but William and that french girl are getting remarried this summer and we must rework that indecent gown you wore" said Muriel
"Of course Muriel" said Ginny in a bored voice, she couldn't believe Muriel was talking about a wedding at a funeral at her brother's funeral
It was the most heart wrenching, emotionally draining day Ginny had ever been through in her life. Worst of all, he wouldn't talk to her, wouldn't even look at her!
She saw him walk over to his seat that had been assigned next to hers. He looked at her for a split second before turning front again. After the ceremony was over he left with everyone else, but instead of heading inside the burrow for food and shelter from the rain that was now coming down steadily, he walked out to the lake at the edge of the Weasley's property.
She quietly walked over to where he was sitting at the edge of the lake at Hogwarts. She took a seat next to him and took his hand. He took her hand back and interlocked their fingers.
After sitting their for many quiet, thoughtful moments Ginny asked "Did you miss me?"
Harry turned to look at her, emerald meeting chocolate. "Of course I missed you! Why wo-?"
"Then why didn't you write to me?" she asked softly "I wrote to you all the time, I never sent them of course, but I always wrote."
It had been a hard year for her being away at Hogwarts. A part of her was angry at him, for leaving her there, and for not being there to wrap his strong arms around her when things got tough. She just needed to know if he still cared.
"I wrote to you." he replied his voice a little uneasy. "I wrote you 274 days, everyday I was away I wrote to you!"
Ginny stared at him in disbelieve "does he still care? ..." she thought before saying " It wasn't over for me, when you broke up with me, it wasn't over to me.
"It wasn't over for me either Gin" he said.
He grasped her face with his hands and their lips met in a passionate kiss that took all of the air out of the world. When they pulled back they were both soaked to the bone from the rain but they just stared at each other. Knowing the other still cared, knowing they weren't going to be alone anymore.
"Harry, promise me next time you go on some dangerous mission you'll show me those letters. Ginny said said softly.
"I will Gin, I'll show you the entire notebook filled with them" he promised.
They stayed with each other that entire day never leaving the others side. Through of the tears of that day, through all of the happiness that summer would bring, they were together.
As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months Harry's first Auror mission came and sure enough Harry's owl dropped a large package onto the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall.
As Ginny unwrapped the package she realized what it was. His notebook.
Fin.
