Justin's First Year
It's been two days since I've been bitten, and Mr. vanHuesen (who has asked me to call him Al or Alucard) took me to Romania to teach me what it means to be a vampire. I was missing Juliet a lot and my missing often distracted me from my lessons. "Justin you're not paying attention," Al said, "now please tell me what I've just been telling you about the Voultori." "That there are basically the royal family of vampires," I replied, "they consist of Aro, Marcus, Caius, their wives, and their guard. Now recently their authority has been questioned by a coven of vampires called the Cullens, who we will be meeting in our last month here." "Very good so you aren't as thick as you let people believe," he said, "now you know that now that you have become a vampire, it means you are no longer a wizard and can no longer take part in the Family Wizard Competition." "What?!?!" I said sounding confused, "I can't take part in the competition!" "That's right. In exchange for immortality, you give up your wizard prowess," he replied.
The days went by as Al taught me the history of each of the Voultori members. I have to admit it was absolutely fascinating. I had no idea that Marcus was the First vampire, though how he mutated into what he is today is still a mystery. I also learned that he did not begin his rule with the Voultori until about 2000 years ago, after the fall of the Romanian vampires. It also turns out that Vlad Tepes Dracula was an actual vampire.
He also taught me how to hunt this was easier than expected as I was faster and stronger than before. I could also smell my prey from about two miles away. Learning to control my thirst though proved to be difficult. I was always thirsty, even right after feeding (though not as much.)
The time came for us to meet the Cullens as they would be in Romania teaching their new coven member vampiric history. "Ah Alucard, my dear friend," said their leader (Carlisle), "I've gained a family since we last saw each other some 239 years ago. Let me introduce you. This is my wife Esme, our first son and his wife, Edward and Bella, their daughter, Renesmee, my second son and his wife, Emmet and Rosalie, and my third son and his wife, Jasper and Alice." "This is quite an impressive family you have this is my daughter's boyfriend and newest member to our kind, Justin Russo." "Pleasure is mine," I said trying to be polite. It was hard to find words their beauty was breathtaking. "So is it true that some of you have supernatural powers?" I asked. They looked surprised by this question. "Yes," said Alice, "I can see into the future, Jasper can change people's moods, Edward can read minds, Bella can shield mental powers, and Renesmee can show people images from her mind with a touch of her hand."
"Is that a heartbeat I hear?" Al asked. "Yes, it's mine," Renesmee spoke, "I am only half vampire." "How is that possible?" I asked speculatively. "Well I won't go into details," Edward said, "but I am considered an Incubus for what I did." "How many times do I have to tell you Edward?" Bella started, "never call yourself that. It's degrading to your perfectness." I just stared as she said this thinking that this is how I felt about Juliet. Oh how I missed her but I would be seeing her in two days time
After about three hours of conversation we went our separate ways. Al and I began our journey back to the U.S. we ran and we swam the entire way. Tomorrow I would see the love of my life.
